Twilight Syndrome

Over-commoditization at the expense of originality, artistic quality, and substance.

Amazon Review of Sophie Jordan's "Firelight", shows Twilight Syndrome in action:

"...She was far too much the super-special yet tragically misunderstood heroine from the get-go, a cardboard cut-out of a character that's getting dog-eared with overuse. Consequently, the cliche "forbidden romance" with the obligatory perfect love interest was contrived from the start. It smacks far too much of Twilight, whose romance nobody should be praising or trying to emulate. I wanted to be subtly and skillfully led into both the story and their relationship; instead I had it shoved at me. Needless to say I will not be reading beyond the few chapters I was prompted to try, and I will just have to hold out for another author to come along and do the opposite to dragons what Stephanie Meyer did do to vampires."

asperger's syndrome

A form of autism believe it or not. Named after Hans Asperger.
Aspergers Syndrome can be mild or extreme. Its a gift and a curse at the same time.

Its known mostly for being a social issue. People with it can walk and talk like normal people but the ability to handle talking with people, dealing with people, understand social "cues" and even so much as going up and asking for a new cheeseburger in a restaurant if it is made wrong without feeling like a complete idiot and fearing what the people working there are thinking of them can and will be VERY hard. In other cases, so much as walking down the street is a problem for these people.

People with aspergers syndrome often have very small interests for example computers or radio or a certain TV show or music. Because of their lack of the ability to deal with people, people with this issue often stick to themselfs. Often in their rooms. They learn about their favorite subjects to the point of having encyclopedic knowldege of the subject. This is partially where the term "little professer" came from.

Aspergers Syndrome comes with a few additional problems. People with it often have strong OCD and deal with panic attacks.

Poeple with it have problems being touched. So much as being hugged or touched by their parents, family or anybody even close to them can be a very bad expirence for them.
grooming, wearing of socks, can be a problem.
bad posture is also a common problem with people with aspergers syndrome.

A mild form of autism is known as asperger's syndrome.

Melbourne Syndrome

The inability to contemplate or make plans for life after lockdown.

Melbourne has been under one of the world's longest and harshest Covid-19 lockdowns since a second wave took hold in July 2020, caused by the Government's bungling of hotel quarantine and contact tracing.

Since then, Melburnians have been detained in their homes and are only permitted to leave once per day to shop for essentials or to exercise for up to an hour. A curfew from 8pm to 5am also applies.

The leader of the dystopian state, Daniel Andrews, appears at daily press conferences to create the impression of accountability and transparency, while managing to avoid providing any specific information to his 5 million captives about what his government has done to address the failures that caused the second wave.

Secondary symptoms of the Melbourne Syndrome include the continual consumption of Covid-19 related media and an inability to complete other tasks until you have watched all 90 minutes of Mr Andrew's daily press conference.
