cheerleaders

A person who cheers for

A) Another sport, such as basketball or football

B) Themselves

This is commonly confused with a slut or a whore.

I'm going to clarify.

CHEERLEADERS. ARE. ATHELETES. We work hard and don't just run around wearing bootyshorts and being hyper. We work hard. We're not what the stereotype says. Get. It. Straight.

Most cheerleaders are also extremely flexible, so they can do scorpions/aerobesques/heel stretches/toetouches/pikes/herkies. They also should be strong for stunting.

Woah, the cheerleaders just ran five miles at practice!

cheerleading

a waste of a sport; a activity that isn't a sport

Cheerleading serves no absolute purpose but to make the audience horny with pretty rich shallow girls dressed in short skirts & slutty clothing. Most cheerleaders are popular in high school, & are well known for their shallow behavior & annoying nagging. Though there are a few who try to give the "sport" a good name, it doesn't work cause they all end up the same. And those who get into the sport experience the "cheerleader effect" where they become very shallow & think they're all that.

I guarantee 10 years from now the prettiest girls in your high school reunion will not be the cheerleaders! ;)

Cheerleading isn't a sport!

Cheerleading

it is a SPORT all of you who think it isn't should really try it yes the routine lasts about 3 minutes but you have to jump, tumble (gymnastics which takes a lot of muscle power), stunt (carrying people who weigh yes 100lbs or more while the person being carried has to twist their body like a pretzel & yes it takes flexibility then trowing that person high enough for them to be able to twist two to three times before being caught), hitting each motion perfectly as one which means tons of practice to get it just perfect for just those 3 minutes which took you at least 10 hours to practice just that routine over, and over again. Those of you who call US cheerleaders bimbos well we still have to keep our grades up in order to cheer and most of us want to go to college ok. We do compete against each other which most definitely makes it a sport.

And for those pathetic excuses of cheerleaders who whore around and just join to be popular you make the rest of us look bad those of us who really love to cheer. And no you don't have to be skinny to cheer no we don't make them go anorexic but you do have to be healthy fit and strong, and yes some cheerleaders aren't pretty but who cares who said they had to be.!!

Sam: Oh molly! check out those cheerleaders their triple full down it was amazing!

Molly: I know their tumbling skills are pretty good as well.

Sam: I never knew cheerleading was so challenging.

Cheerleading

Most people argue that cheerleading isnt a sport bc its basically a bunch of "slutty" girls jumping around yelling go team go and trying to get laid. YOUR WRONG! I'm not a competive cheerleader but i am a cheerleader for my high school and although that might not be as hard as competive cheerleading it is hard. We practice just as much as the basketball, volleyball, and football players do and we practice just as long. We run, stretch, and lift weights. No we are not aneriex. every girl on my team weighs over a 110 pounds. Most of the girls on my team including me eat just as much as the football players do if not more. if you ever come to camp you wont see one of us without food in our hand thank you very much. You have to have the right technique to lift the girl in the air or else your drop her and that can cause injury. we have to learn over 30 chants and at least 20 cheers and if we dont know them by football season we get yelled at and benched. we have to learn at least 6 dances also. and camp is just as hard as most camps. i dont care if you think "sideline cheering" isnt a sport. but it is hard work and were not stupid sluts that prance around. I have straight A's and you have to keep a 3.0 gpa to stay on the squad. so dont judge cheerleaders just bc u watched a stupid movie that showed cheerleaders being bitchy sluts. b/c were not.

Cheerleading is just as hard as any other SPORT!

Cheerleading

an extremely amazing sport.
it takes strength, determination, skill, rhythm, and coordination.
especially competitive all-star cheerleading.
other athletes lift weight but we lift people.
and that takes some mad skills.
its a lot harder then it looks.
i mean you torture yourself all year just to be able to do another flip.
its crazy.
and you get points off for being sexy, so all you guys who think thats all we do your wrong.

and looks don't matter in cheer.
i am sorry that we look good while we work our asses off.

and that 2 minute and 30 second routine kills.
if you have any problems try it.

in football all they do is run around and tackle people.
in baseball they hit a ball and run a base.
in basketball you put a ball in a hoop.
in soccer you kick a ball in a net.
in volleyball you hit a ball over a net.
in cheerleading you dance, run, stunt(lift people and have their lives in your hands, or you have to trust people with your life.), you tumble(flip), yell, have to look good in little skirts, and you have kill yourself to be flexible, and you have to want it, be able to catch a girl flying 15 feet above your head, and much more! :

Cheerleader

Starting in May of 2011, the NCAA is making CHEERLEADING a national sport. Cheerleading is the SPORT in which the team or SQUAD members, CHEERLEADERS, participate in multiple activities such as JUMPING, TUMBLING, STUNTING, and of course, CHEERING. There are multiple types of complicated jumps, hurdlers and toe toe-touches to start, that require immense amounts of flexibility. Tumbling is the gymnastics portion of cheerleading, consisting of tucks, handsprings, and more. Stunting is by far the most dangerous aspect, involving two BASES and one BACKSPOT throwing a FLYER up in the air to do various tricks before catching them again. This takes a great amount of strength, trust, and training by the cheerleaders. They can either be males or females, and they compete in various competitions worldwide. A cheerleader must be a strong, flexible, dedicated, and trustworthy person in order to be a member of the cheerleading squad. Although stereotyped, these members of society are actually highly respectable and turn out to be extremely successful. Examples of famous previous cheerleaders are: Kelly Ripa, Dakota Fanning, Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry, Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz, and Sally Fields. You go girls!

It's hard for a cheerleader to be humble, when they can jump stunt and tumble.

A cheerleader has spirit, and does cool faces when they dance called "facials".

Cheerleader

A person who enforces school spirit and shows pride. Also, cheerleaders are the representatives for the school/community and are positive examples. They are also preforms who dance, cheer, stunt, and tumble.

Dwight D. Eisenhower, Franklin D Roosevelt, Halle Berry, Jamie Lee Curtis, Madonna, Meryl Streep, Paula Abdul, Steve Martin, George W. Bush, and many other very respected people were all cheerleaders.
