A fair weather fisherman is an angler who only goes fishing when the weather is good or sunny. He never goes fishing when the conditions are uncomfortable. It is considered an insult.

Usually refers to native island men that chase/pursue white females visiting/vacationing the islands (Jamaica, Bahamas, Nevis, etc). The conquest is often considered a status symbol for the islander men.
