a person who dresses like a hipster, listens to bob dylan, johnny cash, etc., but grew up on bands like metallica and pantera. Also acts like a hipster, wears poped out 3-D glasses, and buys vinyl records of hipster and metal music.
I can't believe that kid bought a Lamb of God album on vinyl. What a true metal hipster.

In simple terms, one who listens to metal music. Often mean if your musical tastes differ from theirs.
Metal Head: Anything that's not metal sucks. May I see what bands you have in you ipod?
Me: Sure.
Metal Head: Wow, all of this sucks. Where's the Cannibal Corpse?
Me: I actually enjoy many styles of music. You don't enjoy any jazz? I am a big fan of Chick Corea.
Metal Head: Chick Corea is gay because he's not metal. He probably couldn't sweep pick or play natural minor or chromatic scales.
Me: Chick Corea plays piano, so he obviously could not sweep pick; in piano terms, it's an arpeggio. Also, He does use minor scales and chromatic runs but not blindly like your favorite artists.
Metal Head: Still not metal.
