Same Soup, Just Reheated

Status Quo, an unchanging circumstance, lack of progress.

How was work?
you know... same soup, just reheated.

Bring me some soup

The asking for soup, usually by black weather reporters during heavy rain. Used famously by Ollie Williams in Family Guy.

Tom: "In local news, we have more on the approach of Hurricane Rupaul as it makes his or her way up the coast. Let's go live to Ollie Williams with the BlaccuWeather report. Ollie?"
Ollie: "IT'S RAININ' SIDEWAYS."
Tom: "Sounds rough Ollie, Do you have an umbrella?"
Ollie: "HAD ONE!"
Tom: "Where is it?"
Ollie: "INSIDE OUT TWO MILES AWAY!"
Tom: "Is there anything we can do for you?"
Ollie: "BRING ME SOME SOUP!"
Tom: "What kind?"
Ollie: "CHUNKY!"
Tom: "All right, we'll get on that."

the soup is cold and the salad is hot

A meme with multiple layers. The original dialogue is from the Sonic Boom cartoon. In the show, Dr. Eggman complains that his soup is cold and his salad is hot, then exclaims "How is that even possible!?". People soon found that the dialogue fits with the song "Red Sun" from Metal Gear Rising Revengence. They replaced the line "When the wind is low, and the fire is hot," with "The soup is cold, and the salad is hot!".

Eggman: The soup is cold and the salad is hot! How is that even possible!?

"When the soup is cold, and the salad is hot, the vulture waits to see what rots."

Chicken Noodle Soup (song)

A hip hop song by DJ Webstar. It was performed by rappers Young B. and The Voice of Harlem. There is also an accompanying dance.

In the great tradition of hip hop, Chicken Noodle Soup combines the lyrical and rhythmic power of insightful poetry with profound social commentary reflecting the societal, economic and educational realities of Harlem and other communities like it.

The chicken noodle soup symbolizes a cheap meal and speaks to the economic distress of the community while β€œthe soda on the side” represents the allure of unhealthy β€œfeel good” sugar foods and calories highlighting directly poor nutrition and the need for instant gratification indirectly (by contrast most families with greater education would serve milk or water with the soup).

It has been argued that the rain can mean almost anything metaphorically, but that the depth of the metaphor is that it is a recurring maladaptive behavior repeated over and over by members of the community. β€œLet it rain, then clear it out. Let it rain, then clear it out.” No effort is made to stop the rain from coming in. It’s allowed and then β€œcleared out” in perpetuity.

Chicken Noodle Soup (song) is a hot song, man. Straight up dope in 2006!

French Onion Soup

A combination of "male hot soup" on top, and a generous helping of fecal matter for the base. Served in a cup or bowl. Also part of the "lunch special", which is half soup/half tossed salad.

"Call me Pierre...I just gave that bitch some French Onion soup and all she said was 'Ooh La Laaaaa.'"

cup 'er soup

n. 1.A homosexual. 2. An eccentric person; someone who is strange.

1. Johnny hit on me at the party, I'm pretty sure he's a cup 'er soup. 2. Tom has Harry Potter dolls in his dorm room, what a cup 'er soup.
