economic efficiency

The ability of an economic system to provide what people what, given their incomes. Given the fact that incomes and resources are both finite, efficiency will be of the utmost importance in determining if people's wants are satisfied by the workings of the economic system.

Free market economies usually provide high levels of economic efficiency.

german efficiency

Refering to mechanical produce of post-war Germany. Due to the low wages at that time, and no shortage of skilled workers, west Germany gained a solid reputation for outstanding quality of products at a reasonable price. Today, many people swear by german efficiency, and refuse to buy inferior products from anywhere but.

distributional efficiency

In the social sciences, refers to the effectiveness with which a social benefit reaches its intended beneficiaries. When most of the cost of a particular social good is absorbed by intermediaries, such as scalpers and profiteers, distributional efficiency is low.

The state-owned auditorium hands out a fixed number of free tickets to students to promote the arts, but nearly all of them sell the tickets to scalpers for the money. It's very poor distributional efficiency.

energy efficient

Marketing speak for "doesn't work worth a fuck". Only saves any appreciable energy by the placement of the "energy efficient" sticker, which discourages anyone from using it.

That "energy efficient" automatic door takes about five minutes to open, so everyone not in a wheelchair has learned to just open the door the old-fashioned way. Guess it really does save energy! What a piece of shit.

Soviet Efficiency

A parody word of the way the soviet union operated usually very inefficiently because of sprawling beauocratic morasses. Also refers to systems that operate very poorly because of increased and unnecessary beauocracy.

In my home town the buses don't run on time because of the copious amount of beaurocracy involved in something called "the regional transport authority", they actually have a group of people who's sole purpose is to read out street names for the bus drivers!!!, In the soviet union anyone who wanted a job was usually given one....eventually when his "file" made it's way through the chain of beauocracy to the appropriate fielding office, in one case a man actually had a job watching cans though other positions needed filling the beauocrats made no effort to appropriately position him and invented a new job title, completely irrelevant of his actual skills.

Judicial Efficiency

1. Any and all measures are taken to avoid jury trials.
2. Synonymous with the term Injustice and the phrase "fuck, we don't have time for you."
3. That which takes priority over full and fair justice.
4. Term commonly applied to justify a Judge's Judicial Misconduct.

The judicial administrators should modernize their lexicon in the name of judicial Efficiency.
