A reference to a joke about a man going to a whorehouse.
Shortened version: A man goes into a whorehouse and says he's jaded and wants something completely different, so he's told to go into a room where he sees a chicken. He says, "What am I supposed to do with that?" He's told, "You're supposed to fuck it!" So he shrugs, takes his clothes off, and starts chasing the chicken around the room, but after 20 minutes, clawed, pecked and bleeding, he gives up. He walks out of the room and down the hall, where he sees a group of people looking through a window at a woman having sex with a donkey. "That's disgusting," he says. "That's nothing," one of the men says. "A few minutes ago there was a guy trying to fuck a chicken!"
Thus the phrase, "Keep fucking that chicken."

A phrase that can be used as a reply or advice in a variety of conversations, usually as encouragement (Keep up the good work, etc.) but also can also be defined as unproductive activity (fucking the dog, etc.) Can be used metaphorically or in the literal sense. Considered vulgar. Coined by news anchor Ernie Anastos of New York's Fox 5 network in a segue during a live newscast on September 16th, 2009.
My grandfather always used to say "keep fucking that chicken, boy!" and I really didn't know what he meant so I just rolled with it.
Or:
Ernie: "It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast, Nick."
Nick Gregory: "Well, I guess that's me!"
Ernie: "Keep fucking that chicken."

It's what you say to a meteorologist after they announce the forecast.
Or in any and all situations ever.
"It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast"
"I guess that's me"
"Keep fucking that chicken"

Basically a much funnier synonym for "Keep on keepin' on." It's what you say when someone tells you how they're struggling with something.
Ernie: It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast, Dick.
Dick: I guess that's me...
Ernie: Keep fucking that chicken.
Dari: *googly eyes*

To sarcastically disparage a trite person.
The weatherman kept wearing Ernie out with his dull humor so Ernie finally said, "Great forecast, keep fucking that chicken."
Used by television anchor Ernie Anastos during a live news broadcast of Fox 5 New York.

1. To give one bad news in a tender manner.
2. Expressing with softer emotions
During some playful banter with local weatherman Nick Gregory, legendary New York broadcaster Ernie Anastos complimented Gregory, by saying, "It takes a tough man to make a tender forecast, Nick."
Looking confused, Gregory responded, "I guess that's me."
Without missing a beat, Anastos continued, "Keep fucking that chicken."
