govern-meant

1. A term reflecting the excessive amount of spin, misdirection, butt-covering, and massaged statistics that come from our elected officials. Recognized by the fact that a spinmeister must "clarify" what a politician meant whenever he sticks his foot deep into his mouth.

VeeP Biden: "Swine flu? I wouldn't go anywhere in confined spaces."

Staff: "What the VeeP meant to say was..."

Another fine example of govern-meant.

A saying in which is mostly used by traitors, revealing that they are a traitor.

Wilbur Soot : There was a saying Phil(za), by a traitor.
*Smiles sadly*
Wilbur Soot : it was never meant to be....!
Or,
Eret: Down with the revolution boys! It was never meant to be!
Tommyinnit: Eret you bastard! We trusted you!

everything is meant to be

acknowledge the reality presented, particularly a reality that is outside a person's control or that person's fault

I like to say "everything is meant to be" when something shitty happens or when I fuck up so that I accept reality and move on.

What are you meant to be?

A rhetorical question used to criticise someone's appearance or attire. The term implies that the person's attire is reminiscent of a more unconventional outfit (perhaps that of a halloween costume).

Oi, Knob-end, what are you meant to be?

...is what I meant to say!

A poor method of recovery when someone highlights your mistake in a sentence.

Person A: "I swear I was born in the wrong century!"
Person B: "You mean 'decade'."
Person A: "...is what I meant to say!"
