n : A homemade smoking device that is made by a three liter bottle that is cut off at the bottom and uses a foil for the bowl. It usually work by putting marijuana in the bowl and the user lifts up the bottle and collects smoke and then the user takes the foil off and pushes his head in the water with the bottle making him have a really big hit.
The best way to make a gravity bong is by using a one gallon jug and a trambone mouth piece on the top of the jug then cut the bottom and use a big kitchen pot for the water.

Ok let me throw some insight on how to really hit a gravity bong and the science behind how it works. First off a gravity bong uses water pressure to pull heat into the bowl as your toasting it. You can easily snap a bowl if you dont watch it, which in turn will put you into another D. Ok so the first step in making one of these goes with whatever jug, bottle you like. Remove to bottom( i like to have about a little more than 2/3rds left. With the cap make a pinki size hole. Put a slider in the hole, or a socket, or a pen tube, or just a foil bowl. That depends on what you like to use. Submerdge the bottle before you have the cap on, unless you want wet weed. You then place the cap which has your weed on. Light the bowl and as your lighting pull the bottle up. When the amount of smoke you like is in you remove the cap place mouth on and push the bottle into the water. This is the best way as the smoke will get deep into your respiratory system. This is better than sucking in the smoke. For a quick anatomy lesson. When smoke is forced rather than sucked it gets deep into your lungs, hell it gets in your respiratory system. This just makes the high crazy. Good luck and remember to have fun.
I use a 3 litter bottle or a 20 fl oz bottle, this is depending on how messed i want to get. Remember the larger volume of a bottle the more air is going to pulled from the bowl generating heat.... i.e- Those hits were massive from the gravity bong.

A reverse gravity bong (or waterfall) is a smoking apparatus that can be easily made with household objects. One of the most widely used versions is one where the user melts a socket wrench piece into the cap of water bottle and burns a hole at the bottom of the bottle, allowing the water inside to flow out, and the smoke to flow in. Weed is packed into the socket piece, and the hole at the bottom of the bottle is plugged. Water is then put into the bottle until it fills up. After, the weed is ignited while letting go of the hole at the bottom. When all the water is gone, simply unscrew the cap and inhale the smoke.

While the typical gravity bong entails cutting off the bottom of a large plastic bottle or poking holes in it and then making a tinfoil or ratchet top bowl for the top, these can also be made of glass. Choose your glass bottle of choice and wrap cotton string evenly 4 or 5 times around the bottom of the bottle where the desired cut is to be made. Douse the string and the area of the bottle below the string with a flammable liquid such as cologne or hairspray or lighter-fluid. Light the string on fire and hold the bottle upside down such that the bottom (which is on fire) will be facing up. Once the flame burns out quickly revert the bottle and dunk it straight down into ice cold water. The rapid temperature change will cut the bottle where the string is. For the bowl drill a hole in the cap of the bottle and fix your glass bowl for a bong into the cap. Use like a traditional gate. These will mess you up more than the plastic ones without having to worry about breathing plastic.
