many of these deffinitions of "scene" kid are pretty dead on, but i beg to differ like any "sub culture" not all "scene" kids are jerks, etc
i think the backlash against these "jerk scene kids" has just resulted in the mainstream infiltrating the underground culture of what has become "scene" and so lots of "jocky boys" who just want sex and "holla back girls" who just want sex have latched on to it...
there are quite a few nice perfectly respectable people that are "scene"
people who are scene looking and follow the ideals without all the negativity...duh

A bunch of people who have decided myspace is a game and created a life of childish fued's to entertain their narrowminded brains.

scene kids are just people like everyone else. they like a lot of bands people havent heard of, and wear clothes a lot of people dont accept. i dont see the big deal if someone is head to toe in hollister merch or head to toe in a thrift store merch what the difference is isnt clear to me. if everyone looked the same i would vomit. people are different and dress different and wear different clothes because we have different PERSONALITIES. there are no 2 people with the same personalities so there are no 2 people that have the same exact tastes and if they do they are FAKE.
ignorant persons thought:
those fucking scene kids dont know how to dress. they are wanna be abercrombie zombies
scene kids thoughts:
i wonder when from first to last is playing, why is that preppy girl giving me dirty looks?

in response to the kid who said something along the lines of scene kids being harassed for their beliefs, i would like to take a second to ask you exactly what those beliefs are. 3 hours of applying make up is better than 2? the more colors they have in their hair, the cooler they look? nay, my friend, the sole reason they exist is to try to stand out more than the person standing next to them. however, rather than being unique in belief and conviction, they just choose to spend their money on the newest trends. yes, i have seen that many scene kids are "vegan." but perhaps they need to have that stupid make up slapped off their face. make up promotes animal tests. against corporate america? stop buying clothes made on foreign shores by children younger than themselves for pennies a day. in all honesty, they stand for nothing. make if they'd get the hair out of their eyes, they could see how meaningless their piddling little lives are. the end.
all people that go to shows to talk and have people look at them instead of for the music are scene kids. stay out of my pit, yuppie scum.

A sub-culture revolution against the hackneyed, slutty pop-rap macroculture and the mundane culture and fashion of the banal. The imagined "scene" receives a lot of hatred from both of these young-adult to early-adult audiences because they have developed a paranoid belief that everyone who dresses to fit a particular style (of black-dyed hair and tight pants) must be contriving against them and making fun of the aesthetic unappealing nature of their looks (of which they are almost definitely self-aware). But the "scene" is imagined; and that is the greatest victory and the tragedy of the scene kids... every idiot hates them because they are too obtuse to understand that they're just like every other confused adolescent attempting to gain some sense of identity.
there is no need for an example, scene kids

"unfortunate, tortured youth," often complain about their teen angst with not much consideration for anyone with any real-world issues or other people in general. "Scene kid" often coincides with wearing obscure band t-shirts (even if they've never heard them), dying and cutting one's hair more than once ever 2 weeks or so, playing in some obscure band that usually sucks (with an extremely random name), and wearing "outlandish" clothing to get attention. Often threaten to do stupid things for small amounts of money but really have no balls at all and are all talk. Usually fortunate suburban kids who feel they have something to express by going to "shows" and jumping on each other and making people feel less scene than they (calling others, ironically enough,"poseurs"), scene kids tend to hang out at the mall (probably near but not too near a hot topic), they're the kids wearing the Taking Back Sunday t-shirt to the TBS show, and they most definitely claim to have heard them first and might even know them personally, because it matters oh so much (!?). most scene kids probably don't really know who they are because they've spent so much time following the crowd of myspace users and spend more time trying to figure out if Warped Tour is still cool and taking pictures of themselves from angles than they have on job applications or learning anything relevant to "real life."
you? maybe not. look around. black cut up gloves? hair in face? tons of eye liner and lip gloss (guy or girl). Yeah, that's a scene kid. Laughing at you? YES it probably is. "I'm seriously going to punch those scene kids in the face."

Non-conforming conformists. Doesn't make much sense, but then neither does the entire 'movement.' Developed from the 'emofags' except, not as whiny; but still pussies when compared to goths, which is pretty bad. Identified by their tight fitting clothing, eye-covering bangs and often colored hair.
When questioned on their status they'll insist they are merely music enthusiasts; quick to brush off so called 'sell out bands' which they secretly listen to while biting their pillows.
The only saving grace to this of many myspace spawned groups is that 'scene-chicks' will often take extremely revealing mirror-pictures of themselves, but even then.
Typical scene kids conversation
-This band is so cool, I hope they never see any success so we don't have to label them sellouts.
-I agree, pass me my clove cigarettes.
