An individual in a group who soaks up all the teasing/joking/mocking that takes place in the said group.
Phil: "I heard Giles managed to get with a fugg ugly 15 year old yesterday at the union!! she must have been from the 'school of the Blind' down the road"
Elliot: "Yeah dude, he always manages to do embarrassing things at football club socials, thats why he's our banter tampon!"

To deliberately mock oneself in a banterous fashion in order to join in on a joke or else when no comeback is forthcoming when a friend banters with you.
Friend: mate your head is massive
You: ye its the size of a planet inn'it! self-banter!
Where different areas of the military basically take the piss out of each other for a laugh. The marines take the piss out of paras and the paras take the piss out of marines, the army does it to the navy and everyone does it to the RAF. But just like anything in the military they all know that it is joking and have each other's backs when they need it.
Marines: Whoohoo paras can jump out of planes, so can we.
Paras: Marines are the naval equivalent of the RAF regt.
*later in a firefight* marines and paras are side by side because they are on the same side and it's just military banter

Banter of an exceptionally high standard; the best kind of banter available; so good can actually have an adverse and harmful effect on those involved in the banterering.
Shewar: "Last night was jokes. I don't feel too good this morning though"
Will: "Yeah, it was Toxic Banter "
Shewar: "Bare toxic"
heroic banter shared between a group of lads, curiously it must contain a 3 point jump shot at the end.
1st guy: hey look there's joe.
2nd guy: is he standing up or sitting down?
1st guy: aaar heroic trench banter there.
Usually described when someone's banter is so piss poor that nobody laughs. The main culprits of wet banter are Danny day and Marie birkbeck
