1)The coolest rock band ever. lead singer, billie joe armstrong, drummer, tre cool, guitarist, mike dirnt. took of in 1994 when they released dookie, and again when they realesed Good Riddence in nimrod. suddenly became "the best band in the world" when they realeased american idiot. now, eveyone's fave. band is green day, and their fave. song is boulavard of broken dreams. their old songs are sooooo much better.

One of the all time gayest bands. Their lead singer, Billy Joe Armstrong, even looks like a girl, and the other members, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt, aren't far from it. They either play emo songs where they complain about their life, or songs that make absolutely no sense at all. They are all STONERS (hence the name, "Green Day"). They have made countless albums, but have never been exceptionally good. Their songs have little meaning, their guitar player is less then average, and their drummer is around par. For better music, try Dream Theater, Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc.
Buddy: Hey man, you wanna come over? We could listen to Green Day!
Me: Umm... Riiiight... Do me and favor and chunk that crap. I'll bring my Metallica cd.

American Idiots who just released their new CD "American Idiot" which is by far the worst Green Day CD ever to be released and also far worse than anything you would have ever imagined being released by this great fucking band.
I'm so bummed...the new Green Day CD fuckin blows.

A band that falls under many different generes of music but calls itself Punk Rock, much to the chagrin of many people who believe that punk rock can be so easily defined as anything that Green Day is not. This band also is subject to much argument, especially between its early fans and its rencent fans.
Its albums include "Slappy," "Dookie," "Insomniac", "Nimrod", "Warning", "American Idiot", and "21st Century Breakdown". Its most recent albums, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown, have expanded Green Day's fandom to a wider range the their previous albums, causing many hardline punk rock proponents to call green day "sellouts," and many of its former fand to call them pop rock, due to their constantly changing music type.
In short: Green Day is a good band that falls prey to media and fan hypocrisy
Original Green Day fan: "American Idiot Sucks. They've Become nothin but pop rock idols."
New age Green Day fan: "So what if their different? Their trying to make a statement! What did they do before? All they used to sing about was being high or spun out".

probably one of the best bands ever in punk rock history. all of their old stuff is amazing, and some of their new stuff is okay. most of the newer fans of Green Day very much so want to be punk, but obviously fail poorly. also, some of the newer fans feel the need to spell the bands name 'Greenday'.
Green Day= amazing. fucking. band.
