Nu metal means new metal. Just like Metallica and Slayer was in the beginning of the 80's. I think it was good that some of the Nu metal bands came. Metallica was good in the 80's, but after that they sucked pretty hard. Nu metal saved metal from being worn out. But most Nu metal band sucks today too. Korn and Slipknot are the best nu metal bands, but I don't like to call them that, cuz they don't sound like eachother or like Linkin Park or Limp Bizkit(who sucks harder than anything else that's called metal) at all.. Only three bands from the 80's are good:
Metallica (the four first albums)
Slayer
Iron Maiden.
And new bands that are good:
Korn, Slipknot, Disturbed, Static-X, Marilyn Manson.
But maybe some of these bands are gonna suck some day too, like Metallica do today.
Many of Korn and Slipknots fans listen to old metal too. And my daddy (41 years old) like some of Korns songs, and some of Slipknots songs, and some Marilyn Manson-songs. But he usually listen to Metallica, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Judas Priest, and bands like that.
Slipknot was opening band for Metallica once, and most of the audience liked it. And Slipknot toured with Slayer, and the slayer-fans liked Slipknot.
But I do agree that many Nu metal bands sucks (Linkin park, limp bizkit, deftones and alot of others)
Old metaller: Slipknot and Korn sucks!
New metaller: Okey, but I bet you haven't heard any other song than what's on MTV.

a genre of music that is held in low regards by most true metal fans. Nu metal bands are not nessecarily sell-outs or wannabe's, its just the image that is shown by bands such as linkin park, there are how ever nu metal bands that make proper music. A great example of this is Deftones, who played a large part in the pioneering of the genre. One of the few talented nu metal bands left, is a true example of Nu metal

To me nu-metal is shit shit shit, and where doese that damn name come from, whatever, most of the time it is the line that seperates the metal from the rock whitch is a good thing we need a fuckin' line.
Ya get to heavy(Hatebreed, lamb of god and all those other bitch faced fagots) then it sucks, ya get to light (Creed, Nickelback and all those other cock sucking fucks) and you get to rappy (Limp Biskit, Linkin Park and all those other fucking moronic cock sucking fucks) then you have what is inbetween all whitch you call nu-metal witch is completly untrue, cuz there orginal, (there is not one band in the whole fucking world that sounds like KoRn (and that is a good thing, and if you don't like korn you can go fuck the mailman) and some fucknuts say that nirvana(the best band ever) is nu-metal well there just fucktards and then there is disturbed, they are not nu-metal there are just metal they don't even sound close to you 'nu-metal', they do solos, they can sing, they can play and they don't cry like a goddamned baby. and then there is Static-X whitch do zero of that crap you call 'nu-metal' it is simply 'new-metal' cause ozzy and his bitchs are 'metal' then the new music can be called music to goddamn it!

metal that has been around since the 90s infusing metal with other genres of music including such as rap and techno and industrial most nu metal bands include KoRn, SlipKnot, Disturbed, Static-x, Chimaira, Fear Factory despite how what most ppl bad mouth nu metal saying it isnt worthy compared to old skool n thrash metal your right they cannot compete with old skool or thrash metal vut it is still the metal scene of otday n it has contributed a lot to metal culture so all metalheads should be damn proud of nu metal

The Nu Metal label is slapped onto almost every band that was created after the late '90's or any metal band that becomes mainstream.
Many people say nu metal isn't real metal and that it's shit. Well guess what? By many people's definition, Metallica is nu metal. They're probably the most heard of and mainstream metal band in the world. I'm pretty sure Metallica isn't shit, both metal heads and nu metal fans can agree on that. Metallica is one of the best metal bands.
A lot of nu metal is good. Just because something is mainstream means it's bad. Get over yourselves.
Slipknot, KORN, Disturbed, etc. are all considered "nu metal"
By many people's definitions, Metallica is nu metal. And since many people are saying nu metal sucks, they're saying Metallica sucks, which they certainly do not.
