A True Metal Head

'Just a general Metal head typically seen with non-tight jeans, casual shoes, and an Iron Maiden shirt. Will listen to a wide spectrum of metal from Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath to Pantera. The best and least annoying type of Metal head, tough, down to earth, he doesn't feel the need to tell the world he likes metal with gimmicky clothing styles or cliques, he simply gets on with his own life and lets other get on with theirs.'

ex.1:
kid1: 'dude, that kid is such a true metal head'
kid2: 'yeah, with is non-tight jeans and his casual shoes'
kid1: 'must be one of the last of his kind'

Full Metal alchemist

-An excellent colorful anime full of comedy, drama, fantasy, and yes, even metal :P. I was somewhat apprehensive because of the overall apearance of the show at first (you know, big googly eyes, and manga-ish reactions) but I was pleased to see that they did this just to draw in the more immature crowd who like bright and shiney objects, etc,. The overall plot just keeps on getting thicker and thicker, with new twists and turns that is not often found nowadays in anime.
-The only thing that I can think of that is "wrong" with the show is that it has bad comedic timing, like if someone coughs blood, it gives them a split-second, almost comic-like look to them (this actually does happen).
-Though it is still not my favorite anime, it is surely making its way up my list (cowboy bebop being at the top, of course). It has a great storyline, tear-jerking scenes, (both comedic and tragic)and excellent character-development, the thing that I look for the most to define a good series.

I give this series an A-. Good job Ed and Al!

Just a small author's note: I am not what you would call a typical anime fan (though some of you may say that there is no such thing as a "typical" anime fan, you're just the kind of people I'm talking about). To give you a visual: I am 17-years-old, blonde, straight, normal/somewhat pretty, 125lb girl, who never wears rainbow stockings, OR freaky cat ears, is not in the "goth" group, or any other punk-emo whatever group....and uh...did I forget any other stereotypes, hmmm...oh well it'll come to me later. Anyhoo, I just wanted to say that so you know that you guys are not hearing from the same people over and over again.

Oh. Yea. Watch the show.

Full Metal Alchemist is on my top 5 list of great animes, and I've seen 16.

About the Inu yasha/ full metal thing...uh, which definition do you think your on?
go b*tch about it somewhere else where people might actually care.

throw-up metal

1) Another sub-genre of heavy-metal music so named for the "throw-up" sounding vocalizations of the "singers" and/or live performances involving either the crowd vomitting or the musicians themselves.

I listen to all kinds of metal like speed metal, black metal, death metal, hitler metal, and even throw-up metal.

melodic death metal

A variation of death metal, also known as "Melodeath." Bands in this genre seem to have borrowed many of the traits of thrash, and combined them with classical death metal. For instance, these bands tend to have longer songs, more guitar melody/solos, and much more diverse lyrics. Blast beats are used, but not quite as often as they are in the more classical style of death metal. Vocals tend to be a mixture of the higher black-metal-style growls and the lower death-metal-style ones. Some of the newer bands have even been making limited use use of clean vocals (i.e., Profane Omen, Absence, Chimaira). As far as the mood...this style tends to be a lot less doomy than black metal (i.e., more lively, and not so depressing).

It can be argued that this style began with the band Carcass and their release of the album called "Heartwork." Carcass was originally more of a Grindcore-type band, but slowly refined their style, and progressed into a more and more melodic form of metal, until "melodic death metal" or "melodeath" was born. Since then, hundreds of bands have come about exhibiting many of the same qualities, such as In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy, Fear My Thoughts, Shadow, Light This City, The Autumn Offering, etc.

Christian Death Metal

Sounds like death metal, but has biblically based lyrics. Makes fans of traditional death metal foam at the mouth and become the judgemental hypocrites they accuse Christians of being.

Uses the music of Satan to defeat his purpose.

Pwns noobs.

"Have you heard the new Becoming the Archetype? They kick ass. Oh wait, they're not talking about eating babies, I can't listen anymore. Dadgum that gosh darned Christian Death Metal."

Alternative metal

A form of alternative rock music which pretends to be metal music due to some metal influenced riffs. This genre is considered to be metal for people who can't handle anything heavier than Breaking Benjamin.

Person 1: I was listening to some Breaking Benjamin. Are they metal or rock?
Metalhead: They are alternative metal music. They are too wimpy to play real metal, so they play alternative rock pretending to be metal.

Sheet Metal

This was heavy metal music from the late 80's to the early 90's that was neither heavy, nor really even metal. When it was listened to by men, it was used primarily as an attempt to bring a girl home (and, presumably, into the sheets).

Sheet Metal tapes and CD's were often stashed in the glove compartment when on the road, or in the socks and underwear drawer while at home, and the possession of them was never willingly admitted to fellow dudes.

Examples include Poison, Bon Jovi, Faster Pussycat, Steelheart, et al...

It was always a good plan to keep at least one Sheet Metal tape in the glove box on weekends...you know, just in case.
