A colloqualism that has the same effect as the phrase 'what the fuck' (abbr. wtf?!) i.e. denoting incredulity.
This phrase first appeared in the 1961 D film 'The Beast of Yucca Flats',due to the director actually misplacing the soundtrack of the movie, and it has since been a mystery why or what it had to do with the movie plot.

A section of Pep Squad/Cheerleading that generally consists of a small team of girls and/or boys twirling a pair of flags on a set of small, baton-like poles. They are also known as Short Flags and are very much different from and harder than the larger, slower Colorguard Flags. Pep Flags is an intensive sport where members not only twirl but also do many stunts and mounts, toss flags to each other, and incorporate a variety of dance moves and footwork to fast-paced music.

Something that people say is benign but is really an annoying trait or habit.
My boyfriend's beige flag is that he responds everytime to "how's it going" with "it's going" or "it's going good now" if it's after work.
