South African slang, originally from Cape Coloured community. Means "mothers' child". It is what you call a very close friend, because they are like your brother/sister, so they are like another child of your mother. Sometimes also spelt as masekent, or masekint.
"Aweh, ma se kind!" = "Hello, dear friend"
Used when you don't have a clue what you've just witnessed and when you appeal to a supernatural explanation, because you are too ignorant to be aware of the scientific explanation.
An example can be seen in the Sacha Baron Cohen's movie "The Dictator (2012)".

A term for a person who is facetiously joking about how important/cool/awesome they are.
