I read the SMH. Please don't kick me.
SMH is an acronym that stand for "Signal Message Handling." SMH can be used when someone has sent an email and would like conformation that the email has been received.
SMH can also stand for "shaking my head." In this sense SMH can be used in the place of words such as disappointed or confused. SMH is the action that sometimes accompanies the feeling of disappointment or confusion.
Sally: Hey, I sent you the email about the report, SMH.
George: Ok, I'll check for it when I get home.

Smh is the acronym for "shaking my head" When using smh someone might be disagreeing, or may think whatever your doing is silly. It's basically just shaking your head in real life except you're sending it through text.

When something or someone annoys/bothers a person, usually of African American backround, they "suck their teeth" making a "smh" sound. It's a sound that stands for aggravation and irritation. It is sometimes used as a self-defense mechanism if rejected.
A young man walks up to an attractive young girl asking for her number, she responds with a "no". The young man replies with "smh, you ain't cute anyway!"
