Glorified communism.
Just think about it for a minute, equality on paper sounds like the (almost) perfect solution to most of society’s problems.
But in practice… it made more problems.
Same thing happened with communism, they tried it twice and failed. “Third time the charm”? Yeah.. apparently so, they just needed to rebrand it so people wouldn’t be so suspicious of it.
A lot of people think fairness and equality are practically the same thing. Trust me, THEY ARE NOT. They sound the same yes, but when you look at the fine print, there are pretty big differences between the two.
Equality: Let’s say you’re in elementary school and it’s about to be recess. The trouble maker (TM), of the class does something that they weren’t supposed to do and now everyone is in trouble, even though the teacher witnessed the kid causing trouble. The teacher doesn’t care and now every body has to stay inside while the other classes go outside to play.
One person got in trouble? Now EVERYONE is in trouble.
Fairness: We’ll use the same example as before, except this time the TM got what he deserves, the teacher only punishers him and everyone else gets to go outside with all their other friends, from the other classes.
1 person person gets in trouble, only THEY get punished.
Here’s another example: imagine you have two crates of apples in front of you with each crate being able to hold 20 apples, and there’s 20 left to the side. Crate #1 currently has 15 apples while crate #2 has 15.
Equality would be to put 10 apples in each crate. But that doesn’t work since one crate is now over capacity and has too many, while the other doesn’t have enough.
Fairness on the other hand would give 5 to crate #1 and 15 to crate #2, now both crates are evenly filled.
Equality focuses on the “giving” aspect making sure everyone is being treated the same, but this lacks context and reasoning. While fairness is more on the “value” side, seeing every person needing their own needs.
One is constantly overlooked, and one is always misused, you try figuring out which is which.
When people want equality in situations where they've historically been disadvantaged, but want tradition in situations where they've historically been advantaged.
Wanting equal pay but expecting the guy to always pay is selective equality.
A missaying of the word "equality" commonly used by Twilly to describe what women are in desperate need of.

Teacher: “I don’t have favorites, I love all my students equally, just some equaler than others.”
