Starfire and Robin

A couple from the hit T.V. show "Teen Titans" and the comic book series. The Teen Titans consist of 5 main heroes that fight as a team against evil.

Starfire is a Tameranian, and is the alien of the team. Her real name is Koriand'r. She is the princess of her home planet, Tameran, Starfire has vivid auburn hair and very tan skin. Her eyes are green, and in the comic series, pupiless. Her optimistic and bubbly personality is sometimes contagious, and since she is an alien, is often confused by "earthly ways." Her powers consist of the ability to fly and shoot green

starbolts from her hands and eyes. She is also much, much stronger than she looks.

Robin was once Batman's sidekick. His real name is Richard Grayson. He is the leader of the Teen Titans, and always tries to do what is right and put his friends' needs in front of his own. He has spiky jet black hair, is super fit, and knows karate. He is borderline obsessive when it comes to tracking down his arch enemy, Slade, which gives him an air of over seriousness. However, Robin has enough hope for everyone, often trying to find a solution of an impossible problem.
----------------------------------------
Starfire and Robin have a really great chemistry, but Robin's obsession with Slade or stopping evil and protecting their city gets in the way of their relationship. His shyness and inability to admit his feelings can really annoy Starifre.
----------------------------------------
Major R/S episodes include: Sisters, How Long is Forever, Date With Destiny, Transformation, Go!, Betrothed, and Stranded.

The Teen Titans Movie: Trouble in Tokyo, also features Starfire and Robin's relationship developing, eventually kissing for REAL and getting together.

Examples of their relationship

In "Betrothed" Starfire is getting an arranged married in order to save her planet, and Robin is extremely jealous, doing everything he can to save her from her husband, an ugly green glob.

In "Date With Destiny" Robin is forced to take a bratty girl to a prom, and Starfire is extremely jealous. (But at the end, they end up dancing together)

In "Stranded" Robin gets petrified as Cyborg (fellow teen titan) tells him jokingly to stop goofing around with his girlfriend Starfire, which sparks confustion and misunderstandings between Starfire and Robin's relationship.

round robin

petition passed round for signature

This has nothing to do with the bird. Robin in this expression is a corruption of the French ruban, meaning 'ribbon'.In 17th and 18th century France, there was a good deal for the average peasant to complain about, but complaining to the King in particular was not a good idea. The monarch's usual reaction to a petition from his subjects was to seize the first two or three signers and have them beheaded. Not wishing to lose their heads, but bent nonetheless on petitioning for justice, clever peasants came up with the expedient of signing their names on the petition in a circle, like a ribbon. That way, no one's name came first, and, assuming that there were hundreds of signatures on the petition, it was impractical for the King to punish all the signers. A similar method was adopted by disgruntled sailor in the 18th century British Royal Navy, another institution not known for welcoming criticism. Sailors often signed their names to a petition like the spokes of a wheel, so that no one of them could be considered the leader of a mutiny and hanged.

Red Robin

Red Robin (NASDAQ: RRGB) is a chain of casual dining restaurants founded in 1969 in Seattle, Washington, USA and now headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The chain is best known for its gourmet burgers and bottomless steak fries as well as its freckled lemonade. The first Red Robin still stands at the corner of Furhman and Eastlake Avenues E. in Seattle, at the southern end of the University Bridge. This building dates from 1940 and was first called Sam's Tavern. The owner, Sam, sang in a barber shop quartet and could frequently be heard singing, "When the red, red robin goes bob, bob, bobbin' along." (Henry Woods) He liked the song so much that he eventually changed the name to Sam's Red Robin. It eventually dropped the "Sam" and simply became Red Robin. The first restaurant was 1,200 sq. feet. In 1973 the restaurant expanded their business to include their most well known hamburgers including the famous Red Robin Bacon Cheeseburger and the Royal Red Robin Burger which has a fried egg on the patty. In 1979 Red Robin regulars, Mike and Steve Snyder, decided to open their own Red Robin in Yakima, Wash. The Snyder Group Company becomes Red Robin's first franchisee. In 1980 Red Robin was well on its way to becoming "America's Gourmet Burgers & Spirits" by opening a restaurant in Portland, Ore. In 1983 Red Robin adopted a mascot named Red who became an overnight success and a favorite of children everywhere. In 1994 the company introduced their "Bottomless Steak Fries." In 2000 the company celebrated the opening of its 150th restaurant. As of February 2007, there are 307 locations across the United States and 18 in Canada.

round robin

Coming from the show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"; the act of two or more teenagers deciding to go out together, be it on a date or to a party and/or somewhere else that they can't be found going, and then telling their parents that they are going to each other's houses as an alibi.

So we'll pull the round robin tonight?
