Truman Show moment

An event which seems unbelievably contrived - so much so that when it happens to you, you begin to suspect that you are not a real person, but a character in a celestial sitcom.

(from a Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour episode, ca. 1956) You are in Las Vegas and you and the Mertzes want to go on a uranium hunting expedition in the desert, and children are not allowed. You then discover that a couple you know from New York is staying in the same hotel with their child. Little Ricky then goes to Hoover Dam with the other couple and their child, freeing you to hunt for uranium. The "Truman Show moment" occurs when you discover that the other couple is at your hotel.

Dog Show

A subtle type of insulting or belittling of a Target by using a sarcastic way of request aimed at said Target to show their talent, skill, or level of intelligence. If the Target obliges to the request, often times in front of a camera or a crowd, this results in 2nd Hand Embarrassment among watchers (commonly without the knowledge of the target), a malicious amusement among the requestors, and lowering the Target's standing in the eye of the public, the crowd, or in the hierarchy of their peers.

A Dog Show commonly happens as a way of bullying a person without their knowledge, who is clueless to this concept. The term came from Dog Shows, where dogs are ordered to do tricks, to entertain an audience.

Actor 1: "Hey Brad! Can you do a little dance for me? These girls over here would be OVERJOYED to see you bust some moves... I heard that you were a great dancer!"

Actor 2: "Yeah haha! Come on it would really make me have a crush on you if you did!"

Target: "Oh haha. O-okay..." *dances awkwardly*

-In the near distance-

Actor 4: "Those upperclassmen are making a Dog Show out of that poor kid again. Should we do something?"

Actor 5: "Nah. He should've learned to avoid it after he got his left leg sprained from failing a Cartwheel."
