That’s where the dollar stops

Common firehouse phrase used in many ways and possibly for days. Can be used in endings of uncomfortable situations or even in moments with lack of verbal content.

Situational use: Fire Captain watches probationary firefighter prepare meal. When the meal is almost complete the Captain stirs the food in the pan. The probationary firefighter then stated β€œthat’s where the dollar stops.”
