What it used to be: "the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes."
What it is now: a way for (mostly) women, with radical ideologies, to express their hate on men. Feminists believe in "the patriarchy" (a male controlled society), which in fact, does not exist (and if it were to exist, women would still not be able to vote or do other basic things in first world countries.) Feminism used to matter in first world countries, but it is now irrelevant. There is no wage gap, and there is no bullshit like there used to be. However; feminism (the non-radical kind), is needed in third world countries. Third world countries need much more equality, and there is already enough evidence to suggest that.
TL;DR: feminism is supposed to be about equality of the sexes, but it is now about abolishing the non-existent "patriarchy".

Was valid years ago. But now, because the genders are equal(in the U.S.), it is a movement led by dumbfucks that think women are still oppressed. Often feminists complain about irrational fabricated issues. Also, in defense of feminism, feminists use biased, irrelevant research to "prove" their point.
Someone said, "feminism is believing in the social, political, and economical equality of all sexes and genders", but they were a fucking retard. Feminism is actually the advocacy for women's rights, which is why it's fucking retarded. Because women have equal rights.

The belief that women and men are equal and neither should be deprived from basic human rights. It is called feminism because it is focusing on helping raise women to a higher status to become EQUAL with men. Although it is often confused and mixed in with misandry, it is in no way the same thing. Feminism has gotten more and more popular over the years as both men and women raise their voices to support feminine rights.
