Walk Down

A shootout between two opposing gunmen, often portrayed in Hollywood on Main Street as a duel between hero and villain; the first real life “walk down” supposedly occurred between Wild Bill Hickok and Phil Coe in October 5, 1871 in Abilene, Texas. Hickok was Marshal of Abilene, and he was forced into a shoot-out with Phil Coe.

Matt Dillon in the television series Gunsmoke was most famous for his frequent walk down fights with the villains on his show.
