Freak Show Collectable

A collectable that should hold no value due to looking very bad. However, due to either a popularity with collectors/fans, limited production, and/or the sheer novelty of it, it becomes very sought after. With prices being fairly high given how crappy the collectable is.

Person 1: Hey, do you still have that fast food toy that looks defective?
Person 2: Yeah, but it's become a freak show collectable now. I might sell it for $400 or more online.

Homeless Collection

A pun on haute couture meaning a clothing genre defined by mis-matched & ill-fitting pieces that one refuses to give away or donate to charity, where they belong.

A look defined by clothing that is "long in the tooth" yet still worn and considered appropriate/stylish by the wearer.

A grouping of clothing articles that only a destitue/homeless person in dire need would wear, when provided by charity.

My husband has so many new designer duds, yet he still chooses to shop from the closet with the homeless collection of clothes......

Why are you dressing yourself from a homeless collection? Have you not looked in the mirror?

He was so cheap his clothes look like they came from a homeless collection yet he thinks he looks great!

Collective Machiavellianism

Collective Machiavellianism in plain is the same as normal Machiavellianism, but enacted by a group of people, big or small.

This group will use whatever means they can, and if required, will use unethical means to achieve the goals they want, historically, it has been associated with fearmongering from demagogues to get populations of their followers on goal with their fearmongered ideals, such as the Salem Witch Trials, or the McCarthy era and red scare in general.

other times Collective Machiavellianism is simply caused by a group being forced to obey the status quo or other standards imposed on them by the group that subjugates them to carry out the overall Collective's will, whether good or bad. It will more than likely always end up in a bad context as the aim is for the Collective to gain the necessary power to carry out the aims their reaching out for, then maintain them regardless of the means needed to do so. Historically, often seen at the terrible expense of others not a part of that group, such as the many workers in the McCarthy era that were practically barred from their jobs after being fired for being alleged communists within their communities.

At times, even people in the Collective may be completely opposed to the Collective's ideals but feel that they must conform regardless; this is usually acquainted to the lucifer effect.

One of if not the greatest evil within Humanity. Think of INGSOC from 1984 whenever you hear this term, or MAGA republicans.

Sally has allegations being thrown at her by multiple guys in the guy's friend group. They are doing this because she had rejected one of them, and now they want to get their revenge on her by working together to make false accusations about her in order to ruin her image at school. They plan to continue the rumors until their able to force her to do what they want her to do for them. This is an example of Collective Machiavellianism

toss-across collecting

A creative method of scavenging for discarded returnable beverage-containers along the road; it involves starting out from your house and walking along one side of the road and throwing any returnables that you find on that side across the road to the other side, so that you can then collect all the returnables from both sides of the road on your way back again; this eliminates your having to carry any heavy bags of containers "the wrong way", i.e., in the opposite direction from your home, where you want to transport all the containers for processing and bagging up for the redemption center.

Toss-across collecting is a great way to save time and effort when scavenging for discarded empties; just don't toss glass containers, though, since they can easily shatter if they land on a rock or sizeable stone. Also, put some water or a small pebble inside the super-lightweight plastic bottles, so that they will be heavy enough to sail all the way across the road, especially if there's a breeze blowing in the opposite direction.
