1920s slang, a fancy way of saying "two days ago"
"a strange broad walked into my office- as strange broads sometimes do. i had seen her before- deuce of nods on the back seat, in O'Ryan's speakeasy."

A gesture which indicates "yes, of course', commonly used in India. This gesture is where people move their head in a strange manner which looks like a sideways figure 8.
When I was in India, I asked people "yes" or "no" questions and when they meant to say "yes", they used a sideways figure 8 head nod to indicate that they meant yes.

Kari was with his latest girl in the back of his mk2 cortina and when he'd finished he just slung the nod rag out of the window and there it was dangling on the drivers door mirror!!!!
Much like nodding sagely but in a way that makes it seem like you’re not actually following the conversation.
Lulia: ....so in conclusion, I’m just wondering if you think it’s weird that I used lube to get that thing into my blender.
Serenity: *Nods Thymely*
Lulia: *Nods Sagely*
“You see terry he’s nod walking”
“Nod walking??”
“Yeah he’s fucked up”
Exhausted after a long day, I drifted off to the land of Nod as soon as my head hit the pillow.
