The meme was further developed under the hashtag "pattygate2k16", when several Tumblr users discovered that Mara's whole stage name is, in fact, a last name (her mother's maiden name being Rooney).
Though it is unclear under what circumstances the phrase was coined, it must be noted that those who use it in everyday life are in acknowledgement of Mara's true identity, that stripped of stardom she is just 'Patty from the block', and agree that 'Patty brings the party'.
