the people of the six counties of Northern Ireland who are on the middle ground of identity politics, both seeing themselves as British and as Irish. Not necessarily people from Scottish or English backgrounds. Those who identify as Northern Irish tend to appreciate both cultures, and tend to not pick a side, however they are also at times ridiculed by both sides as some see there is no middle ground in Identity.

Apparently considered by the rest of Virginia as "uncultured", obtuse, and border-line elitist. As for the elitism, this author can assure you as an elitist themselves it is not, and far from it. As for the cultural aspect of the equation it seems quite odd since there is a high content of ethnicities and nationalities residing in Northern Virginia. However, as the majority of the adults living in the suburbs of NoVa commute to Washington D.C., a government and urban area it is not as "Southern" as the rest of VA. Although, as the aforementioned population is very diverse, it does consist of a melting pot of culture, and therefore are more tolerant of a global community acting as one. Moving on, since Northern Virginia has lots of "noveau riche" folk (as said by someone living in a Southern part of Virginia) and highly paid government employees, it seems as if although cordial and when talking to strangers worry-free of politics, religion, business, et cetera; they are in fact quite knowledgeable of at least one of the topics. As for wanting to be part of the "North", this simply is not true as the Civil War is over.

The most affluent and educated region in the nation. Generally refers to the Virginia portion of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area including the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun as well as the independent cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, Manassas, and Manassas Park. Several other outlying counties and cities can also be included such as Stafford and Fauquier Counties and the City of Fredricksburg. Having 2.6 million residents, it is the most populous region in Virginia, the Washington Metropolitan Area, and the Baltimore-Washington Combined Statistical Area. There are literally almost no ghettos or real crime. Do not move to this area if you make under a $100,000 salary or you will be considered poor. It is generally the Beverley Hills of the East Coast because it is not uncommon for 16 year olds to be driving brand new $60,000 BMWs and Mercedes. Mostly everyone is white and has everything they want. The region does not have international status as the most rich and educated due to surrounding jurisdictions trying to keep NoVA under wraps so it cannot become overpowering. People from Northern Virginia are literally better than everyone else.

a country that doesnt exist. its proper name is the illegally occupied six counties in the north of ireland,their "national football team" is made up mostly of players in englands 2nd division and players in the irish league as for the limited supporters they could easily fill an olympic sized swimming pool(preferably with bricks tied to their feet).most catholics in the north support the far superior republic football team and despise the 6 counties team even wanting england to win when they play the 6 counties. chief export: labourers and whingers, chief import: semtex and weapons and money grabbing wannabee landlord ex-patriots. main income is tourism, but avoid the giants causeway it is absolute shite, as is belfast(all except for the catholic parts of west belfast).

In reality, this is a line of land mass that makes up about a third of the Commonwealth's land mass as well as over half of its population. It runs from Henderson County on the far west end, and all the way to Maysville on the far east end, both of them along the Ohio River. The major metropolises, medium-sized cities, and large towns in this area include Henderson, Owensboro, Elizabethtown, Madisonville (not far from the South), Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Florence, Covington, Newport, and Maysville. This large land strip is the Midwestern part of Kentucky; everything below, including Bowling Green, Paducah, Glasgow, Somerset, and Richmond, is the Southern part of Kentucky.
The people of Northern Kentucky are not too much different from those in the rest of the Commonwealth. Most of us have the same morals, religion, and even politics. The only differences are we have more connections with the "official" Northern states, and therefore do more business with them; we also have more Northern regional and cultural influences, especially from Ohio and Indiana. That is why many of the North Kentuckians act and sometimes talk more like Northerners.
