We like the stock!

This is a rallying cry for people excited about the stock of a specific company. It became popularized on r/wallstreetbets during the 2021 short squeeze of GameStop's shares (GME), which were being short-sold at a high level by major hedge funds. The high number of buys by WSB forced the hedge funds to repurchase the shares at a much higher price and therefore at a tremendous loss, allowing wage-earning millennials to stick it to Wall St traders and their boomer clients. The millennials who still came out at a loss thought it was worth it.

CNBC: "Surely GME won't go up to $1000."

WSB: "We like the stock!"

New Old Stock

New Old Stock, or NOS for short, refers to retail items or products that are still technically brand new, but have never been sold for long periods of time. This is commonly due to newer and/or upgraded versions of the same product being released, rendering the older models obsolete. Thus, this makes them old stock. But because they're still technically brand new, unused, unsold products, they are termed "new old stock".

New old stock units are typically sold at a greatly reduced price, since most of the focus and attention is put onto selling the current models. Retailers and vendors will usually have various quantities of new old stock left over from the previous product generation cycle, and will sell them at reduced prices to clear them out in order to accommodate for newer models.

John: Whoa, got yourself a new tennis racket huh?
Brian: Yep, only cost $60.

John: Wow that's a steal! How'd you get it for so cheap?
Brian: New old stock. This particular racket model came out in 2014, so it's been replaced numerous times already with fancy newer models. I figured hey, it's still technically brand new anyway, and tennis racket technology hasn't really changed over the past few years, so why the heck not?

Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt

Gainax's latest anime. A collosal mindfuck of the greatest proportions, it is deranged, crude, rude, and all in all, great fun.

It involves two angels, named Panty and Stocking. The former is a sex maniac. The latter is a gluttonous sweets lover (who possibly enjoys S&M)

They Fight Crime, or rather vengeful spirits called "Ghosts."

Oh, and the two girls are accompanied by a Hard Gay Priest (unconfirmed) named "Garterbelt" and a Gir expy named "Chuck."

The animation is done with the traditional style of western thick-line drawing.

Needless to say, it looks awesome in motion. However, the sense of humor is ripped from the worst of Western Animation, and it's not for everyone.

Cautionary warning: Watching it may give you a contact high.

Guy1: Boy, That Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt anime sure is weird.

Guy2: It's weird, but it's Beyond the Impossible and crazy awesome!

take stock of shit
