Grammatical Pedantry Syndrome

Grammatical (or grammar) pedantry syndrome is an illness or a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder where someone has a compulsive desire to correct any grammatical errors one has made and is obsessed with taking this peculiar, constant, and vexatious (from the target's perspective) action.

"Me and mark ate cookies!"
"You mean, 'Mark and I ate cookies!'"
"Stop it!"
"Sorry, I have Grammatical Pedantry Syndrome."

Grammatical Pedantry Syndrome

A fake syndrome created in a joke blog by Dennis Baron of the University of Illinois. Many people were fooled by Baron, as the article heavily uses scientific jargon, making it appear like a legitimate piece of scientific literature, but the actual text includes a litany of linguistic jokes and signs that it is actually a hoax. Also, anyone with a basic understanding of OCD would be able to tell that the purported symptoms of "GPS" are dissimilar to actual OCD symptoms; OCD is an anxiety disorder defined by intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors, not a need for order or structure.

Grammatical Pedantry Syndrome is a load of baloney, however I do have Memetic Veracity Syndrome; that is, the need to correct false information (particularly contained in memes) on the internet.

Grammatically Correct Gangsta

One who, when typing, attempts to write everything he or she says in the way they would speak normally, assuming that this person normally speaks like a gangster at some times. Often this is completed through the excessive use of apostrophes in the writing.

Grammatical Rule of Thumb

1.Using "he" in a sentence as the default pronoun(instead of "he or she") for someone of an unknown gender,a person using this rule is thus considered a sexist by feminists.
2. Rule that compares such a person previously described to that of a wife-beater(wife beating is where the Rule of Thumb part originates).

My feminist English teacher yelled at me about my use of the Grammatical Rule of Thumb in my English paper.
