A crossover between the emo and scene kids subcultures. In recent days, scemos have been identifiable mainly by their music taste, which consists mainly of MCR, Fall Out Boy, and Panic!at The Disco (though bands like Mindless Self Indulgence, Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, Pierce the Veil, etc. are also popular, and some are even fans of Twenty One Pilots and the like), 2000s fashion and hairstyles (usually long, ironed, and colourful), and an aesthetic inspired by MySpace graphics and glittery gifs. They often post under tags like #emocore or #scenecore
While at their peak in mid-to-late 2000s the two subcultures often competed for popularity and recognition, making any overlap rare, in recent times emo kids and scene kids have almost completely merged in order to avoid extinction, and the scemo label has become a staple of 2000s revival movements. A derogatory term used to describe those who feel the need to make themselves appear very sad, depressed, and whiney almost 100 percent of the time.
These people tend to wear too much black, ugly patterns from the 80s, and flat shoes. The females tend to have eating disorders and like to post pictures of themselves in underwear on MySpace. The males tend to love to give sexual favors to other males in the hopes that it will either A) attract him more scemo girls or B) ...just get some peen.
Now, the origin of this word is derived from the North American slang words of "scene" and "emo".
"Why is Sally always crying and making up lies about how her parents hit her?"
"Because she's Scemo."

scene+emo / scemo - derived from the Italian word scemo which means idiot.
Urban Dictionary Definition = (noun) A foolish or idiotic looking or acting emo or scene kid who looks like a total poser wannabe awesome person.
scemo - ie, some person who is totally, cluelessly, hopelessy not emo or scene, but is trying super, way hard to be and it is just pathetically not stellar, dude.

Scemo is just as stupid as the two groups the word is derived from! I think scenemo is a cooler term for it anyway because it uses both entire words.

Definition 1: Black, thick rimmed, plastic framed glasses. They can be pretty pricey. You don't <i>always</i> see them on scenesters, but if you want to find them, that's where they'll be.
Definition 2: Huge sunglasses that used to look good on Victoria Beckham, and that a lot of scenesters have adopted.
Some scenester wearing scemo glasses: Hey, I like your glasses, are you emo too?
Me: Ahem. No. And neither are you.
