Portmanteaus

When two words are blended together to create one word, using only a portion of each word.

Examples:

(Internet)=Interconnected + Network
(Brunch)= Breakfast + Lunch
(Moped)= Motor + Pedal
(Bash)= Bang + Smash

Most people realize "Brunch" is a portmanteaus, but what about "Internet?"
