02.) Also used in a sarcastic sense to agree with someone, similar to "ok, if you say so". Usually used only when the person being "agreed" with is stating an extremely unpopular opinion.
03.) Can also be used in a genuine manner, similar to "thank you". (see example 3)

World Cup .. what's that? I know it has something to do with football.
English people know all about the World Cup. Their press will tell you how well the English team will do, their fans .. every Englishman throughout the World cheer their team onward but to no avail. Only once, since the World Cup competition began, has it been won by England. In case you need to be reminded that was in 1966. This year they were beaten by Portugal. Prior to that defeat they were beaten 1 - 0 in Belfast by Northern Ireland.

A football (soccer) tournament held every four years where after 90 minutes of exciting play, and a nail-biting overtime period, they settle the championship game with penalty kicks rendering the entire game pointless! And the damn trophy is not even a cup!
World Cup 2006 Italy vs. France - Why even bother to have the game? Just have the shootout and call it done and save the whole world a few hours!

An international waste of time.
Not only is soccer the world's silliest sport, this is just a sissy excuse to be an idiot. Far and away,the USA dominates the competition, and the other countries shed racist remarks towards opposing players.
A: What the hell is this garbage we're watching?

The only soccer (football) worth watching.
Watching soccer is boring when there's so many better sports out there. Yet the World Cup is cool because it's only once in four years and there's national pride on the line.
