The firstborn child may feel like they were the ones treated the worst because all of the other children were the baby's of the family. Sence the parents were still learning how to be parents they tend to discipline the firstborn more than the other children. But the firstborn is usually the most successful so the other siblings will always look up to them, and their parents usually are the proudest of their oldest.
The first always gets treated the worst.
First child syndrome is when the first child has things more difficult and the other syblings are the baby's and are spoiled.

An incurable disease where the victim, after spending their childhood and adolescence in the endless days wallowing lonliness that comes along with being an only child, will prey on the opposite sex to fill the open role of an older or younger brother or sister in their life. this may be considered to be even sicker than a girl with daddy issues.
this often times only occours to children of white collar, yuppie, work-a-holic parents who tend to spend every waking moment neglecting their child for either work, buisness trips, or vacations with their husband/wife.
in almost every case of only child syndrome, the one kid was either a mistake or the opposite sex of what the parent was hoping for.
"jen is such a gold digger she only goes for rich older guys!"

Only children sometimes exhibit characteristics resembling women who have their periods. This can occasionally lead to flashes of intense anger when they don't get their way or someone insults them even the slightest bit. Also, when there is dissent in the friendship ranks which they are a part of, they lash out and try to make the other friends seem more culpable and especially more gay than they are. They have an overwhelming feeling that the world is against them and they tend to ruminate a lot as well. When you factor girls into the picture with an only child, it is never a pretty sight.
Garzon (on cell): Yo man, you wanna go play ball today?
Dre: Nah man, I got work today sorry
Garzon: God Damnit, no-one ever wants to fucking do anything in this town, i hate everyone. *click*

A child in a family is neither first or last is called the middle child. In a 3 child family, it is the 2nd child, etc.
This child usually gets the least amount of attention, because he/she is not the parent's first, and not deemed as 'special' enough, and is not the parent's last, and so is not treated like the baby.
This creates social tension between the family. The middle child would be the outcast while the rest of the family can have a laugh with each other.
However, in a family where there are seperate parents, creating half-siblings, where the child is in the middle of one side of the family, and is the first or only child in the other side, the middle child may become brattish, and demand everything he/she wants because he/she can get away with it with the other parent.
In the case of bratty middle children, the oldest usually looses out and then becomes the outcast, being independant and deals with how they recieve less attention than the middle child.
A usual night at the dinner table.
Older child doing A level maths: I got a B on a test today
Middle child still doing GCSEs: And? I got a B too.
Mum: *Surprised at middle child* well done (his/her name)! You're actually learning something then.
Older child: thinks; (>.> been there, done that. Pfft, middle child syndrome, lol)

Only-Child-Syndrome
a teenager or young adult that still acts like a self-centered little bitchbaby because they were coddled by their parents for their entire lives. These motherfuckers will get mad if you forget their birthday, or miss even the smallest of parties or events. They will likely have close relationships with their neighbors to make up for the lack of siblings. They think that they are entitled to everything and are spoiled rotten by their parents and grandparents. You will likely find them complaining or more commonly whining. They are so sheltered, they likely have little knowledge on any adult-topics and an even greater lack of social skills. Do not get involved with an only child.
