1. When you invest in Stonks, you put a lot of risk and money into it and hope to get more money than you put in. Usually high risk, high rewards

2. It could also refer to financial losses, like debts, or loans, just please don't commit tax evasion and you won't be in stonks

3. Similarly, it can also describe a poor financial decision, such as lack of savings, paying off the wrong debt first, or just having a crappy credit score.
