Clout Blanket

A blanket used to cover yourself with attention, usually 10 seconds of Facebook fame, also usually while driving someone else’s reputation into the ground on social media. All while gaining popularity and influence.

Yeah, she really covered her ass with a clout blanket to talk shit about Johnny! Had the whole community involved in his business on Facebook, and now she’s even famous for it! Impressive! Let’s leave Johnny a bad review and get our own clout blankets!

Clout Bankruptcy

The occurrence when a celebrity/social media 'influencer' says/does something controversial for the sake staying in the spotlight. It usually happens when said influencer is losing their 15 seconds of fame, thus filing for clout bankruptcy. He/she can do this multiple ways including saying controversial yet bland political takes (i.e: "we're controlled by the elites" "we need a better healthcare system" "there are only 2 genders"), publicly converting into a religion, staging a drama with another influencer, etc. This stunt may also involve monetary gains

Person 1: did you hear that *insert washed up celebrity/influencer* thinks we shouldn't take vaccines?

Person 2: that guy? He's filing for clout bankruptcy. No one's talked about him since he made the hitsong 2 years ago

Clout Magnet

A person who has so much clout that you gain some clout just by standing near them. They radiate positive energy, and they make NO TIME for haters. Being around a clout magnet is a surprisingly smart approach to moving up on the totem pole.

Look at Aiden, he is such a clout magnet! Someday, I want to be like him!

Clout award

An award typically in an academic or work setting, that is granted to the most inoffensive candidate. In contrast to a typical award that is given to the most qualified candidate. Or to a candidate that better fits a predefined quota (hint: minorities). Or to the candidate who is willing to pay a fee (hint: scams).
Clout award's usually have no inherit value, due to having no real standards. On the surface they may appear to be prestigious, but behind the smoke and mirrors they mean squat.

They're the middle child of meaningless awards, with the younger being participation medals and the older being a Nobel peace prize.

"Why did Shaniqua, of all people in our Comp Sci class get the STEM nomination?" -Hwong Too
"It's not actually worth anything, it's just a (clout award)." -Johannes Schmidt
