Raising the expectations of a piece of media to such ridiculous levels that it is detrimental to the success of the game, movie or tv series to the point of extreme toxicity.

The term was first used by the Youtuber ''Mother's basement'' in the video: "Overhyped" Anime

The anime ''Chainsaw Man''suffered from hype-poisoning.

Ivory poisoning

When you punch a muhfucka in the mouth so hard, you knock teeth out, they swallow their teeth & get sick.

If homeboy don’t stop popping fly at the lip, he gonna get a real bad case of ivory poisoning.

dirt poisoning

When you hit the ground too hard and die.

poison bag

A gram of cocaine (bag) that has been adulterated or “cut” with various powdery fillers that should not be ingested by the human body. The users will not be aware they have consumed a poison bag until the next morning when their hang over is exacerbated by the poisonous contents.

The effects are usually headache, extra dry mouth, congestions of the nose and throat, vomiting, fever, depression and a preference to limit any human contact unless you are being spooned.

Poison bags are often re-ordered and consumed, even with the purchaser aware that they are purchasing a tainted bag, due to a lack of available supply, a discount in the price or to chase the dream.

sincerity poisoning

essentially the opposite of irony poisoning

When someone's sense of genuineness is so overboard that it becomes schmaltzy, overly sentimental, or corny. Baby boomers tend to be infected with this, especially celebrity boomers when talking about other celebrities (for example, Joe Piscopo). While the sincerity coming from the poisoned individual may, in fact, feel real to them, others around them will often identify it as fraudulent or overly nice.

1: Did you get Bill's email apologizing for all the little things he's done over the last year? Most of those weren't even a big deal anyways.

2: Yeah, I got that email. Bill used to be really sarcastic and ironic a lot in a funny, dry way, but I think it was too much for me.

1: People really saw him as emotionally disconnected, I think. Now he has sincerity poisoning to make up for it.

Instead of characters being too strong or unkillable, mass amounts of them die instead.

Akame ga Kill had way too much plot poison. Nearly all of the characters died in that one.
