goth

A vampiric term for some one who rejects commercialism. They are neither christian nor satanic. They crave power and are powerful, egoistic, usually quiet. They don't show off. They are susceptible to getting angry at fads and don't agree with marketed membership.

goth

the original goths of the 1700's took their look out of gothic novels, which focused on the darker side of human nature and were heavily infused with romance. femme fatales and vampires are the grandparents of modern goth. dark eyes, lips and hair are mixed with dark, usually black clothing, and plenty of romantic floaty, ruffly skirts and sleeves. today's goth is purely fake and way too focused on death.

real goths wear all black and maybe some deep red
they are not obsessed with death and suicide
they see the real flaws in life
they are big romatics

Goth

It's not about the just clothing.
It's also not just about the music.

Non-Goth: You listen to Bullet For My Valentine. How can you be goth?

Goth: Simple. It's not about the just clothing or the music.

Goth

Many definitions have been given that are accurate, but the meaning of the word 'Goth' is changing. For example in relation to 'Gothic' music, a lot of metal bands are now surfacing that are gothic-fusion or gothic inspired, and conform to some stereotypes of goth, but also do many different things in regards to sound or appearance.

Draconian is a gothic-doom metal band. They sound slow, and their riffs and soud is very dissonant and sorrowful.
Trail of tears is an operatic-gothic metal band, that are similar to bands like Nightwish, except they make use of Blast beats and screaming male vocals. Also the sorrowful riffs become present.

goths

Conforming to non-conformism...
Yeah, sure.
Despite what may have been said about goths, they do not "conform to the non-conformist" lifestyle. Those people are the preps, townies, emos, and the like. These people (the conformists) take the original nature of gothic culture and package it into things like metallica who, despite what some fans might like to believe, were sellouts from the very beginning; taking dirty, hard, and soulful music and predigesting it for consumption by the masses.
The pseudo-noir culture, based off gothic culture, is lecherous and destructive to the goth image; trying to scare people by combining cultism, mob tactics, goth, and emo lifestyles into one big fake dark smudge.

The darkly dressed man sitting in the corner and drawing, reading, or wrapped up in deep thought is probably a goth.

Goth

A clique that was created in the eighties. A Goth is a person who’s similar to an Emo, but less β€œWhiny”. The whole Goth culture surrounds the concept of being β€œunique” (against conformity) and hating the mainstream. These people are highly hypocritical in the sense that they claim to go against conformity yet conform to the Goth lifestyle. Due to the overwhelming amount of depressed teenagers in the world, being Gothic no longer goes against the mainstream. They have become part of the mainstream society and thus must conform to become a Goth.

"Goth's need to learn to shut up and try fixing their problems instead of whining about them"
