Someone who you thought was a good friend but they only show up when the circumstances are in their favor.
At first I thought Matt was a good friend because he would always hang out. Turns out he was just a fair weather-friend. Boy it is mighty cloudy today.

The opposite of a fair-weather friend, a foul-weather friend only seeks you out if they have a problem, need a shoulder to cry on, a ride to town or someone to watch their dog, but otherwise they act as if they don't even know you. They're only your chum when they're glum.
A foul-weather friend will never call you to go out with other friends, go to a show or just go hang out, but the minute trouble comes, your foul-weather friend knows you are good old reliable you, the one who will listen when no one else will, and they act like you're their only friend. Don't expect the same in return either. When you've got a problem, they'll usually tell you not to bring them down.

a few days of warmer weather near the end of winter. It fools some people into thinking that Spring is finally here, but alas, like a strip club, it proves to be "just a tease."
Don't fall for it man, this is just strip club weather. It'll be snowing by the end of the week.
When the the weather forecast is completely different to what is actually outside.
"That was a total Markle weather report last night, they said it was going to be sunny and 80 degrees, but its raining and 60, totally Markled"
A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually bandwagon other teams. They basically have no real loyalty to the team, but still manage to get better seats than you at the game. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble.
Fair weather fan: "OMG what a comeback! That was amazing!"
Regular fan: "How would you know? You left right when Favre threw the pick six in the 2nd and if I recall you didn't even start rooting for Green Bay until 2 weeks ago."
Fair weather fan: "... GO PACK!"
(After the playoff game the fair weather fan immediately became a Pats fan and stowed all Packer memorabilia away.)

The mind boggling attempt made by 45 to convince Poland and the public that Alabama was in the predicted path of Dorian by extending the National Weather Service’s actual charted trajectory by using his trusty black Sharpie marker to lamely do so.
I cancelled this bullshit Poland visit and then made a very big Vegas bet online that Alabama would wind up in Dorian’s path and you fuckheads need to let me put this on the news to legitimize it, even if it is a fake weather prediction!
A friend who is only a friend when circumstances are pleasant or profitable. At the first sign of trouble, these capricious, disloyal friends will drop their relationship with you.
I had thought Ted would stand by me when I was accused of theft, but it turned out he was only a fair-weather friend.
