Conservative? Approximately 24% of Adelaide's population expresses no religious affiliation unlike the other cities where 18% is the average.
As Tony abbot's daughter would say ''you gay, lame, churchy losers''

The capital city of South Australia, Australia. Although it is quite a beautiful, clean and well laid out city, it also has its share of problems. It is sometimes criticised by people in other Australian capital cities for being conservative, narrow minded and racist. Indeed recent analysis via the electoral roll (2005) has proven that the ethnic population (asians, europeans etc) is declining and the anglo saxon population is increasing. Also the place where the derogatory term wogans originated, doing nothing to help its racist reputation. People who live in Adelaide tend to like it because it is a city, but at the same time quiet and small and it is not difficult to know what is going on eveywhere. Most people tend to fit into a certain mould and it is more anglo-saxon orientated than Australias largest cities, Sydney and Melbourne. But it is for these same reasons that there is a youth population drain to the other cities of Australia, and in a study completed in 2006 it was found that South Australia's population had the highest average age of any Australian state or territory. Adelaide is also well known Australia wide for its large marijuana and methylamphetamine speed production, and both marijuana and methamphetamine use per capita is very high. Independant reports have even suggested that Adelaides closet marijuana industry generates more revenue for the state than its famous wine industry. In late 2005/2006, investigations by the Northern Territiry government and police into drug abuse in remote northern indigenous communities found that the majority of drugs were smuggled across the border from Adelaide some 3000 kilometers away, backing up similar drug intelligence findings from other Australian states.
eg 1; Im moving to Melbourne.
eg 2; There are too many bogans, rednecks, stoners and meth freaks in Adelaide.

Adelaide is a pretty but very small, isolated city in South Australia. I grew up there, and while it's certainly not a bad place to live, the people there have small minds and "getting away" to them means driving to Salisbury. The UniSA campus is a "trek". Living now in the USA, it only gets easier to criticize the place. Our stores shut at 5pm, and, with the exception of our 1 mall... Rundle Mall, aren't open at all on Sundays. Open 24-hours stores? Uh, no... we just got electricty last month. Don't let this concept of "progress" get out of control. We can't modernize too rarpidly. Honestly, I think 10 years ago we were on par with other OZ cities, but now, we're going backwards. And fast.
Our department store, David Jones only had 3 of a particular makeup compact I wanted. The Chanel Corramandels. Yes, we had to order it in. I get back to the states and the product isn't even being sold in Adelaide anymore, and there are 7 just sitting in the rack at Sephora.

The South Australian capital city which is still in the 20th century. ADELAIDE is full of the scum of australian society. People are generally backwards, rely on government money. Adelaide has no tall buildings and resembles a mid western American city.
Adelaide citizen:"Dude wot is dat device?"

Adelaidfe citizen: "well no. we don't even have phones yet in adelaide"

I grew up in Perth, Western Australia but moved to Adelaide when I was six. The first thing I noticed about Adelaide was the low, small fences. Theres no privacy. But I like it. One one side of Adelaide you have the hills and on the other the beach. The school I went to had a huge population of wogs and asians. The percentage of australians was around 13%. Its is the city of churches. Everywhere you turn there are churches. But no one I know goes to church. Adelaide is small and quiet in the suburbs but in the city in peak traffic it is busy. If you try to take public transport chances are you have to stand up.
Adelaide is very multi-cultural. It is a city of many religions. It has many significant historic statues and monuments. The three balls stacked in rundle mall, the pigs eating from the bins and the statue of Colonel William Light for example
It has its drug dealers as any city does in the world but the general croydon areas are the most popular for drug dealers to sell and buy drugs along South Road.
Adelaide is well known for its wine. If you travel up into the hills or go to victor harbour you will see many vineyards and wineries along the way.
haha look at the three balls. get it? three balls?
adelaide is dope.
