Limited edition Mercury Comet issued during model year 1976; essentially a trim package involving US flag color scheme, and interior and exterior emblems.

My bicentennial comet brings out the patriot in me.

Cardiff Comet

A land-based comet formation of Welsh human origin.

The Cardiff Comet was first spotted in the Cottage pub, Saint Mary Street, Cardiff on 16th August 2010. It consisted of a fat woman followed by 5 or more women of decreasing size.

It is not known whether the smaller women were fragments of the larger women or individuals in their own right.

The Cardiff Comet is thought to be less predictable than celestial comets but is easiest to spot on a Monday night when only hard drinkers are out in Cardiff. There may a correlation with the hen night.

vomit comet

The late night bus home that you have to take when the subway stops running at 2am.. so named because all the patrons on it are drunks from the bar, and that alcohol induced vomiting is a common occurance.

cough comet

A projectile that unintentionally flies out of your mouth when you cough. Typically, a piece of food which flies out and usually at an inopportune moment. Also known as a coughmet.

Last week, I was at a conference and Tony was introducing me to a potential investor. He was some Swedish guy and was snacking on some hor d'oeuvres. I was shaking his hand and I think something got caught in his throat because he coughed and something flew out of his mouth right at me. My catlike reflexes allowed me to dodge his cough comet as to avoid having a splotch of chutney land on my forehead.
