Guitar Hero Effect

The phenomena which occurs after desperately trying to either pass or 5 star a song in Guitar Hero / Rock Band / or any other music game.

After trying for what seems like ages, then giving up for an extended period of time (usually when a new Halo/CoD comes out or something). You return to the song and easily complete your objective.

I could not for the life of me, 5 star Free Bird. I gave up and played Halo 3 for a few weeks. I came back Guitar Hero Effect came into play and I easily achieved my 5 star.

Elon Musk Effect

1) The name of the effect where someone has an idea for a product that is so outside the box, no one thinks it will work, but it works way better than people thought it would.

2) (On Twitter) When Elon Musk links something or references a website, his followers (eg, the musketeers), will immediately click the link, overwhelming the site's servers and acting as a DDOS, meaning only the first several people to click the link will see the page, and the rest will have to wait for the site to die down.

1) Elon Musk: What if... like... we landed rockets on a drone ship in the ocean?

Everyone: lmao good luck with that
Elon Musk: *does it*
Everyone: Guess thats just the Elon Musk Effect

2) Elon Musk: stankmemes.com strikes again
everyone: *goes to site*
everyone: site is down, I blame the Elon Musk Effect.

Take the Coriolis effect into account.

The one piece of universally applicable advice that adequately explains any situation. Usually used by a superior professional to a beginning professional, when the former has taught absolutely nothing to the latter.

Nurse: Holy shit dozens of people are coming in with unknown ailments!
Doctor (Going on break): you'll do fine. Remember, take the Coriolis effect into account.
Nurse: What about variable humidity?
Doctor: Yeah, that too.

Student: How am i supposed to know what to study for the final?
Tutor: Look, our time us up. Just take the coriolis effect into account, and you'll do fine.
Student: Did we cover variable humidity?
Tutor: Yes, that will be on the exam.

Original example:
Cpt macmillan: Remember what i've taught you. Keep in mind variable humidity and windspeed along the bullet's flight path. Also, at this distance, you'll have to take the Coriolis effect into account.
