Prep

Although formerly used to describe people attending a preparatory school, it is now used to define stuck-up people who think they are better than everyone else, and get everything they want simply because they buy name-brand clothes and they participate in cool activities(i.e. basketball, cheer leading, etc)

<girl 1> Wow. Can you believe she gets everything she wants?
<girl 2> I know! She is such a frickin prep!

Prep

A prep is not neccessarily a person who is a cracker or always a white person but they usually hate chongas and yet call themsekves chongas and put chonga pics on myspace.com but most times preps wear brand name clothing like Abercrombie & Fitch American Eagle Hollister most preps are now wearing super skinny pants with the American Eagle Shoes but sometimes people try to hard to be a prep and just look like they woke up and put on the first thing they saw but today everybody says preps are mean but its just a sterotype but some are and others aren't and its just a label people just need to find friends that accept them for who they are. usually use the word gangster or rad

Mean Preps:
Prep #1: Omg look at that chonga trying to wear Hollister
Prep #2: I know shes such a poser

Nice Preps:
Prep #1: Hi Nicole (chonga)
Prep #2: I am going to go to breakfast want to come?

Prep

Preps can often be associated with stuck up, upper class, white bitches who have eating disorders, wear too much lipgloss, only buy super expensive clothing from places that cater to ridiculously small sizes like Abercrombie and Fitch, Polo, Hollister, and American Eagle and have very basic vocabularies. But honestly, like all fads, it doesn't really matter if your social status or race, as long as you wear the uniform and behave like a prep you ARE a prep. And preps, along with all other cliques are defined by what people think a prep looks or acts like. Regardless or whether you are rich or poor as a rattlesnake. Or whether you're white or whether you've ever actually went to a prep school. If you can't bring yourself to buy a pair of jeans that isn't under 100$ you're probably a prep. If you can't associate with anyone who's style isn't scaringly similar to yours and you feel that anyone's whose different is totally beneath you, you're probably a prep. If you apply a least 30 layers of lipgloss and brush your hair constantly between classes, you're probably a prep. And if your vocabulary consists of the words 'totally' 'like' and the phrase 'Oh my god!' to descirbe every feeling of emotion possible... oh yeah, you're a prep. Remember it's not something you're born into, it's a lifestyle. You chose to live that way, so deal with the label like everyone else has to deal with their labels (and yes, I am talking to all you whiners crying 'I'm not a prep' when you're so clearly are).

(group of preppy girls talk at lunch table)
(girl walks by)
(one of the preppy girls calls her over)
Prep girl 1: Hey! Like, where'd you get your top? It's like sooo cute!
Prep girl 2: Yeah, and I LOVE your shoes!
Girl: Ummm... thanks...
Prep Girl 1: Come and like sit with us!
Girl: Like, okay.
(goth girl walks by)
Goth girl: Prep...
Girl: I'm not a prep!
Prep Girl 3: Don't pay her any attention, she's just jealous.
Girl: Of what?
Prep girl 2: Of not being one of us, of course!
Girl: And what are we exactly?
Prep girl 4: Umm, like, preps? Duh!

prep

Preps do not wear abercrombie, hollister, or american eagle. We shop at Polo, JCrew, Lacoste, Nordstrom, Lord&Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Burberry, etc. We wear nantucket reds, CK Bradley, Lilly Pulitzer, etc. We wear blazers, loafers without socks, khakis and cordorouys, etc. We are fairly exclusive and tend to spend a lot of our parents money. I, for one, would rather be sailing or sipping a rum runner at the club than wasting my time fixing this definition, but it's necessary. We play tennis, lacrosse, polo, fence, sail, ride, etc. We enjoy the finer things of life, and do so quite often.

Blaine is a prep who summers in Nantucket.
Taylor is a cute blond from Belle Haven, CT who hooks up with her good-looking prep friends.

prep

literally, someone who goes to a college prepatory school (like me). Many who can afford to get into such schools have enough money to dress like the typical "preppy" person. So, literally, I am a prep, but I have serious issues with people at school who only care about their American Eagle etc. clothes.
However, one who is "preppy" wears the polos.
Prep schools are usually boarding schools (thank God that mine isn't), and they care more about sports such as lacrosse (my school is 2nd or so in the nation) and field hockey (the coach won some award...but since I don't really care, it doesn't bug me).
Preppy preps can by characterized by their love for the words "Oh My Gosh", and "Like", as well as their obsession for clothes more that $100 per article, (for many, especially at my school) love for the color pink, and some strange obession for putting ribbons in their hair. Speaking of thier hair, I know people who would have gone to my school but were scared away on their "Shadow Day" because all (or almost all) the girls had perfect hair that looked like they had spent hours on it.
Girl's skirts in uniform are usually to the top of the knee.
Male preppy preps have a tendency to wear plaid shorts (yep, they really do....)

Preppy prep girl: Like, O my gosh, did you hear what the teacher said? We have to wear our uniform tomorrow...it was supposed to be a non-uniform day.
Non-preppy person: Get over it, I'd rather just wear the uniform.
Preppy prep girl: But, like, I just went shopping, like, yesterday, and like, I wanted to wear my new shirt.
