I've read it several times now so I suppose it's time for a review!
Hym "So, I've read through Isom 1 several times now and I greatly enjoyed it. Interesting and well-drawn characters. Some light power scaling in the form of a couple of fight scenes but both the nature and the depths of Isom's powers remain a mystery (which drives the intrigue). Alludes to some interplanetary and/or supernatural elements. Shows off some of the antagonistic forces we have to look forward to later in the series. The main antagonist likes to monologue and is (therefore) a man after my own heart. There's a lot going on and he leaves a lot of plot threads to be explored in the subsequent issues. After I finished my first read-through I immediately regretted not buying the second book. 10/10 would recommend.
