A savvy person's correct interpretation of what a two-faced public OFFICIAL (policeman, politician, etc) truly MEANS by a seemingly harmless/helpful/conciliatory remark.
Hall monitor, to delinquent student whom he is chasing: "I just want to talk to you."
"Official" meaning (what "The Book" states that the security guard supposedly means): "I'm not going to detain or even lay a hand on you --- I merely wish to verbally ask you what your issues are, sympathetically discuss them with you, and try to help you find a solution that will be palatable to all concerned parties."
Official meaning (what the dude with the badge is really saying): "You're in big trouble, kid --- I don't give a rat's ass what you say or how innocent you are; I'm gonna slap da cuffs on you and put you in detention! It's how I get my rocks off."
Delinquency-hearing board-member, to an under-review adolescent who is peering uncertainly around the meeting-room door: "Come on in and sit down, young man --- we don't bite."
"Official" meaning: "You have noithng to fear from us, son --- we're totally fair and just, and we only wish to hear your case and decide appropriate discipline, if any."
Official meaning: "We fat cats around this table are all in cahoots, and we enjoy makiing things warm for 'unpopular' youngsters like you. We practically have the power of life or death over you, and we gleefully use that power, too."
For a man, the meaning of life is to bust your nut into as many asses as possible.
For a woman, the meaning of life is to find the best nut you can and put it into your ass.

The meaning of life is always seek out alone and always fail to reach a trillion times over.
While each person's precise meaning is unique to them, there is an underlying universal meaning and a set of concepts that determine what a person's meaning is:
1. The meaning of life is growth.
2. People grow through their experiences.
3. People are driven to have experiences based on their desires.
4. Their motivations are sustained (or squashed) by their beliefs.
5. Emotions provide feedback as to whether a person is growing or being harmed.
6. Ethics are rules for how people should live to grow without harming others.
7. Support allows people to grow much more effectively than they could by themselves.
8. Choice enables people to determine which growth areas they pursue and how they pursue them.
If a person finds a growth area that they are passionate about, pursues the experiences necessary to grow in that area, builds their desire and belief about it, feels "in the zone" when they are performing that activity, follows rules so that they do not harm or inhibit others' growth on their journey, helps and receives help to achieve more, and makes deliberate choices to live their lives in the best way that they can, he or she will find meaning in their lives.
The reason why each person's meaning is different is that everyone will have a different set of growth areas and different goals for each area. The universal concepts will help them figure out what those are and pursue them optimally.

The meaning of life is to grow and thrive. People find meaning in their lives by pursuing meaningful growth opportunities. They choose the experiences they want, believe they can attain their goals, do things the right way, and get help when needed to feel fulfilled and reach their full potential.
