An atheist who goes out of his or her way to argue about religion and treats all religious people with disrespect. This is a common phase which newly atheistic people go through. Those who remain Asshole Atheists after the fact may be generally antisocial or using atheism to compensate for a lack of other interesting traits.
Asshole Atheists generally give other atheists a bad name because others associate atheism with them rather than those who don't point out their atheism when not provoked.
Theist: You atheists are so obnoxious, Noah just bitched me out for saying "God bless you" when he sneezed.
Atheist: Dude, he's just an Asshole Atheist, don't associate the rest of us with him.

The type of atheist who is offended by religious fundamentalists, whilst simultaneously displaying the exact traits he or she claims to find offensive in them (generally included, but not limited to, arrogance, bigotry, myopia, and a tendency towards circular logic, sanctimony, and melodrama.)
Radical atheists blame war, sexism, cancer, tornadoes, and George Lucas on religion, and, while vocally mocking personages held sacred by others, will attack blindly if Richard Dawkins is treated with anything other than blind and reverential worship. You can, indeed, not talk about 'The Dawk' without inciting a flame war, or as radical atheists call them "Crusades."
A common misconception is that all Raging Atheists tend to be high school/early college students who've just heard about Richard Dawkins for the first time. While this is a common specimen, just as many are middle-aged hipsters who, having been raised in a strictly religious household, began rebelling and ended up as the mirror (and equally annoying) image of their fundamentalist parents.
Rabid atheists roam the plains of Reddit and YouTube looking to take offense and clench their buttholes in self-righteous indignation. No one is certain of their exact numbers as individual pack members have been known to host a number of accounts; some of which they use to agree with themselves and some of which, posing as fundamentalists, they use to posit straw-man arguments.
Some Raging Atheist named Pastafarian4Dawkinz just approached me on YouTube and asked if I wanted a PDF of The Blind Watchmaker.

A person or persons who has a disbelief in the ruling of a dominating government with morals of any kind. Those who have belief that not everything produced by politics or the media hold truth of any kind. He/she whom holds their own belief in what is wrong or right not based on what is fed to them by what the general public allows themselves to be brainwashed with.
Political atheist does not designate you as a terrorist it simply means you have a mind of your own

An Atheist who is deliberately angry at all religious people for no legitimate reason. An Angry Atheist will often write books, create YouTube videos, or film documentaries with the purpose of destroying others' religious beliefs. An Angry Atheist will pretend to have the authority of science and history on their side, but will immediately reject any science or history that supports the claims of a given religion, with the accusation that it is "biased" or "un-intellectual".
Oftentimes, the Angry Atheist has been brought up with a religious mindset (usually Christian) which he/she has abandoned for intellectual/emotional reasons. But the painful feeling of having been raised on "lies" and "fairy-tales" has left the person very bitter toward all religions and religious people. And therefore, the Angry Atheist will essentially pick fights for philosophical vengeance, targeting religious laypeople and often avoiding debates with intelligent religious leaders capable of destroying their arguments.
An unfortunate side-effect of this out-going hostility, is that religious people will often attribute the attitudes of this minority to all Atheists, causing a negative stereotype to be formed.
Some examples of Angry Atheists include Richard Dawkins (author of The God Delusion), Sam Harris (author of The End of Faith), Friedrich Nietzsche (Atheist Existentialist who was the first to suggest that, "God is Dead"), and Brian Flemming (filmmaker behind The God Who Wasn't There documentary).

An atheist that combats religion as zealously as evangelicals thrust their religious beliefs on others.
I was talking to a co-worker about an episode of Mysteries of the Bible on National Geographic and this Evangelical Atheist jumped into our conversation telling us that we believed in a Spaghetti Monster God.
