A Siberian Husky is a Muff Moose but an Afghan is not, yet a bold character may imbue a Jack Russell Terrier with the quality of "Muffyness". The term originated in Placerville, CA and spread to the coastal and Tahoe areas of the state, becoming popular in the LGBT communities of those regions. It is now common to hear the term used in gay communities of major metropolitan areas and in those from whence it originated.
