The 2020 effect is when a certain moment in time
(in this case, a whole month) can and will go completely wrong, everything bad that can happen happens on the worst degree.
Unfortunately the 2020 effect happens at complete random, that said
there is no way of telling when it will occur.
New years: "I can't believe 2020 is finally here! i feel like this year will
be a year to remember!"
August 2020: "I just want this year to be over, we had to witness the Hong Kong protests, World War III rumors, Rona, the crash of the Stock Market, the death of Kobe Bryant, the rise of the Murder Hornet, the death of George Floyd, and so much more

A 45-minute online DBQ/FRQ determining if you are getting college credit for the class you took all year. One of the most stressful times in a student's life and even if you do finish it on time, your answers won't submit so all that work was for nothing and you are going to get a 0.
"Hey, Caitlyn, did your exam submit?"

On September 4th, 2020, two idiots who will go unnamed for the protection of the not so innocent deleted something of importance and then proceeded to shrug off anyone who tried to make them face the proper consequences.
Person 1: Hey man, do you still have that project from last week? I need to make some changes to it.
Person 2: Nah man, can't do. George deleted it and then acted like he did absolutely nothing wrong by doing so since "we can just make another one".
Person 1: Damn, George really pulled a September 4th, 2020
