Literally

A word that you will learn when you are 7 years old. When you hear it, you will think that it’s a super-high intelligence word and use it in every sentence from then on out. People still do that as adults, which is always mind-numbing unless Chris Traeger says it. Then it’s okay.

“I have literally never eaten a dorito before.”
Go fuck yourself.”

literally

*adds emphasis*

It's operates in a similar vein to the peppering of four letter words throughout a conversation, merely placing emphasis upon the encapsulating phrase, or the sentence as a whole.
It's like *look here, pay attention to me while I say this, though it is probably insubstantial and you might not want to regard it as wholly accurate if it is substantial.*

The earlier posts literally made such a big deal about the word being misused.

I literally had to correct that shit.

People are taking the definition of literally far too literally; I mean LITERALLY.

This is urban dictionary, it's literally made for incorrect colloquial usage cases. (this one happens to be both at once, which is likely why children first learn a mistaken use case)

literally

the definition of something literal, actual, real. not to be confused with figuratively, the complete opposite or littoral, of anything near the shore or coast of a body of water.

correct usage:

1) I literally made this post at 12:15am.
2) The woman literally just fell from the sky.
incorrect usage:
1) I literally ate shit in FS2020/GTA/DCS/any other flying game. (you didn't literally consume fecal matter, did you?)
2) Destroyers have limited capability in the littorals. (literally wrong context and doesn't even end in -ly ya dingus did you play too much Sea of Thieves?)
