Popularized by the release of Charlie XCX’s “brat” album (June 2024), brat is a cultural movement, aesthetic, and way of living. Brat is meant to symbolize ultra confidence and ultra insecurity. When someone is ‘brat-coded’, it means they’re giving so much confidence, when in reality they themselves probably think they’re cringe.
Brat can be expensive margaritas to your summer trip to LA, or your pack of cigarettes and cheap wine.
X: We’re gonna have such a brat summer!
