WoW

In 2004, Blizzard Entertainment released World of Warcraft (WoW), and it became the largest massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) the world has ever seen. It takes place four years after the previous game left off, Warcraft III The Frozen Throne, an RTS (real time strategy), and the setting is in the world of Azeroth. It lets players portray one (at a time) out of the eight dominant races of Azeroth. The races are divided into two teams, the Horde and Alliance. On the Alliance there are the humans, elves, gnomes, and dwarves. On the Horde there are the orcs, trolls, tarrun, and undead. There are also several classes to chose from. Some are warlock, mage, rogue, warrior, etc. Within the world players can interact with others, the environment, buy, trade, make, and sell, goods, do over 3000+ quests, and much, much more. As of now, 5.5 million people play this game worldwide.
WARNING! This game is extremely addictive. Unless you would like to have no friends in real life for a long time, DO NOT play this game. I myself went though weeks of withdrawal when I stopped playing. After I stopped, my GPA went up from 2.8, to 3.9. This is proof of how consuming this game truly is.

James: Hey Jack, want to go hang out with us at the mall?
Jack: No, I have a 9:00pm MC raid. Plus some guildies and I were going to gank Xroads. I also need to go get 2 more arcanite bars to make a core marksmen rifle. And after that I promised some noobies I would esscort them though Deadmines.
James: Ok... What about tommorow?
Jack: Sorry, I can't. I have a 11:00am ZG raid, and then right after that I doing a guild BG in AV at 5:00pm. And after that, I'm going to try and get an Blade of Hanna in Blackrock Spire.
James: WoW really does rule your life.

WOW

WOW (Whip 'em Out Wednesdays)
Greatest radio promotion of all time, created by the "Opie & Anthony" radio show. Listeners would place "WOW" bumper stickers on their cars, and on Wednesdays, women fans were encouraged to flah their bare breasts at cars with the stickers on them.

"Now ladies, be sure to WOW those cars today. Make some poor guy's day by giving him a treat on his way home."

WoW

A very dangerous computer games that involves, but is not limited to, killing social life, decreasing GPA, developing hermit-like characteristics. Its the best MMORPG, but also one of the most addictive games of all time. Trust me, it will take over your life. You cannot casually play this game.

Non-WoW player: Hey man, you coming to graduation tonight?
WoW Player: And miss the MC run, i don't think so.
Non-WoW player: What about to the party afterwards?
WoW Player: No way! 7pm to 4am is when I hit up WSG and AB, you know that.

WoW

When a person is consumed so much into the world of warcraft, they have the inability to form the word 'wow' properly. Instead, they instantly use 'WoW' as the new way of writing 'wow', without even realising it!

Bob watches a youtube video and writes a lovely comment on a halo 3 video.

The comment

WoW you guys have no life.

wow

World of WarCraft. A subscription based massive multiplayer online role playing game released by Blizzard in November 2004. It is currently the largest of its kind in the world with over five million subscribers world wide (over one million in the United States). After level 60, there is very little you can accomplish unless you schedule time to play daily. Many have fallen into the trap of playing this game, and needing to get that next piece of β€œ1337” gear to impress β€œn00bs” in Ironforge.

In order to become powerful enough to dominate everyone in PvP combat without trying, you need to collect the most powerful raiding armor sets. This usually requires large guilds composed of mostly high school and college students/dropouts or fat unemployed people in their 40’s cursing and complaining and making gay references over Ventrilo or Teamspeak. There is often a point system, and a lot of drama involved in gaining gear. These guilds are rarely managed by anyone with any real marketable management skill.

Long term exposure to this game has hazardous side effects to ones life. Before you know it, your friend base starts shrinking. Your wife/girlfriend leaves. You become bitter, and play the game even more to escape while popping down your Prozac with lukewarm Mountain Dew. You had four jobs with periods of unemployment in the past year, and you live in your parents basement while posting up generalized, uncited, bias, unproven generalized and opinionated rants on some message board bitching about how something is out of balance. The few friends you have left (who all also play WoW) at your community college (which you have been in for 6 years only to stay on your parents insurance plan) use terms like DPS in real life conversations.

Most can greatly improve their life situation by quitting the game. It’s not so much of what the game does, but rather what it prevents you from doing while playing. Once liberated from WoW, those extra 30-120 hours a week can be put to productive use.

Yeah, Joe used to be the star quarterback. He also had a hot girlfriend, and a academic scholarship to Harvard. Now, he is in his mid 20’s still living at home always playing WoW. Almost never hear from him anymore.

Wowwy wow wow wow

Christopher Walken was the first to make this phrase popular in the SNL skit "The Continental". "Wowwy wow wow wow" is used every day. From celebrities to even the lowly shopkeep, none can escape from this almost poetic catch phrase. This phrase has not only made its mark on American society but that of Europe and some parts of Tunisia, and some say this most beautiful assemblage of the English language will forever be uttered in the annals of comedy genius.

"Wowwy wow wow wow! Casey, these brownies are delicious."

"Wowwy wow wow wow! Was that just a freaken pteridactal that flew by?"

"Wowwy wow wow wow, I've got the cancer."

wowed

When an unattractive nerd like person see's a person they find attractive, they mouth the word "WOW".

I was driving my car and slowed down to turn the corner when some ugly balding nerd with taped up broken glasses wowed me as I drove past.
